Nettee's journey to a healthy BMI - 1 stone lighter by Easter?

First attempt at cauliflower rice this evening. It was ok but think I Will try Chinese style egg fried cauliflower rice tomorrow as it needed a bit more flavour. An SP day today - only 1/2 a syn over the 15 so I am counting it as a success :) EE tomorrow although I am planning small portions of the carbs. On Sumday morning I started the couch to 5k properly. It was ok. Supposed to be up at 6 to go again tomorrow - we will see! The children are keen and might make me do it. It is much better with the podcast downloaded.

Ooh I've been wanting to try that for ages!! Please report back on the chinese style version! Xx

Am going to do the egg fried rice tomorrow.....

today at I cooked with low fat coconut milk and made an ok curry. 13.5 syns and a good EE day. Up early for my c2k run! Scales day tomorrow....

A good week last week with 3 lb off. Now I will see if I can do two in a row! I am out for dinner tonight so am trying to keep off the syns and intact have SP meals before we go. Problem is I am now quite hungry after my yummy but carb free lunch! I might try some egg and banana pancakes although I would need to syn the banana as it would be mashed and cooked. or perhaps use my HexB to keep me going.

Back on the case tomorrow with an EE day I think as DH has the day off. SP on Friday and Monday. If I lose 2.5 lb I will get my 2 stone award :)

Omg amazing!!!!!! Well done nettee!!

You must look so different now to when you restarted again in the autumn.

If you get a minute do you mind sharing the fried rice recipe ? It looks incredible!!

Thank you - yes I do look different - thank goodness. Still got some tummy but don't look pregnant anymore. And my rings fit!

Recipe:

Grate some cauliflower - microwave for 2 mins with a splash of water. Cook peas, chop onion, spring onion and defrost prawns.

Fry onions, prawns and peas in frylight. Whisk egg with salt, pepper, Chinese 5 spice and fresh coriander pour into frying pan stiring. Add cauliflower and keep stiring. Add soy sauce and serve.

Flour free pancakes. Mash half a banana with one egg. Fry in frylight. - 2 syns for the half banana but yummy and quick :)

Trying this on sat! Can't wait!

Good meals yesterday but went overboard on syns in the afternoon. And I have already had 8 today for no good reason..... On the bright side I am on an SP day and came up with an interesting lunch of salmon on a bed of stir fried leeks, brussel sprouts and mixed beans stir fried with paprika. It was quite nice.

Off the the supermarket this afternoon to stock up on some more healthy food for the fridge!

Hanging on in there at 10 syns - Thai green curry for supper tonight - need a few syns for the coconut milk.

I have seen somewhere today that research has shown that weight loss social media helps with weight loss. So stick with minimins :)

The curry went down well if a bit too spicy. Came in at 11 syns today as I didn't have much sauce. Enjoyed using a left over half HexB on pistachio nuts. Good to have a spot on sp day under my belt for the week.

Sp is ok - I think I preferred red days. I think the beans and extra bread I find myself eating might be a bit bloating. Would like there to still be a potato option for HexB. And miss the yogurt.

Still - I have had good losses on two SP days a week when I have been in the zone!

Oh dear I foolishly just stood on the scales and seem to have gained. I know it is not standardised - I have drunk lots of tea, I have not just been at work for two days (as I usually have on a Wednesday), I went out for supper on Wednesday night and had a dodgy day on Thursday. It is not real - ignore, ignore, ignore! I have been quite good for a the last little while (ok prob a week and half!) at not weighing more than once a week. It is so much better not to - I had been quite pleased with myself before I did that and feeling motivated......

Oh no! Yes, ignore ignore! Our weights fluctuate through the week. Don't be down and don't let it scupper your good work going forward.

What's on the menu today? Have you planned your meals? Free feasting will sort you out!

Step away from the scales nettee!!!! You serial weighers do crack me up!!!

Thanks guys - an EE day today. I have some left over bolognaise for lunch with jacket potato and pork chops for supper I think. Will need to save some syns for them though as they are not that lean! Only half a HexB used at breakfast so toast for an afternoon snack.

The children are in baking mode and I talked them into my new banana pancake recipe which went down well (1 syn for me!). And now they are doing blondies which I will have to resist :)

*Subscribing* Hello there, I will be starting the SP plan once I have finished my 10 day juicing detox. I have also just finished reading Sweet Poison, and I am about to read Fat Chance, by Lustig. I am a bit confused about the fruit restrictions, as when I read Dr Furhmans, Eat to live, he recommends eating as much fruit as we can. So, I have no idea what to do about that, as one is a lawyer, and one is a doctor specialising in nutrition. But, I also want to follow a minimal sugar diet now. So I wont be eating kitkats and biscuits each day as a " treat " while on the SP plan. Looking forward to seeing your journey....(I admit I haven't read up yet, just read your first post and thought yay she is like me hehe!)

Hi Middy - Lovely to see you here and glad someone else is doing the same sort of thing as me! Well done on your losses so far - that is brilliant. I think fruit is ok (based on the lawyer's book!) as it 'comes with the antidote' which is fibre and also has loads of good things in it as well. I do try to limit it to 2 portions per day as I am a grazer and it is not very filling. I could easily eat 6 apples every day which would be an extra 450 cal or so that hadn't really filled me up.

Are you going to do SP all the time? I quite like it in small doses but respect to you if you keep it up every day. I would quite like the extra cheese or yoghurt after the first week though!

I use my syns on cheese, bread, butter, fat on meat, crisps, crackers and try to avoid lapsing into sugar cravings. It is hard though as every time I fall off the wagon with sugar it takes a little while to get myself back on it and I eat all sorts.

I have had the tiniest corner of the children's blondies and they are now cut up and in a tupperware as I am hoping that will stop me eating them all.
