Nom??

    I have seen this in a few places recently - some of the younger members of my family say it - and it's turned up on this forum too . . .

    Where does the expression "nom, nom, nom" come from? Does it mean the same as "yum, yum"?? Or what?

    (Yes, I do know it's a silly question!)

    I think it comes from the sound you make when you're chomping :D

    And yes it means the same as yum yum :)

    I hadn't heard the expression either until I came on here either Avisk, at first I thought people were talking about the new nom yoghurts !:eek:

    "Meh" is another one that gets me, I saw it on here and had to google it's meaning!!!

    I am fascinated by the way that new words seem to pop up out of nowhere! I heard someone talking about "apps" for some gadget the other day. Took me a long while to work out that it was short for applications - little programs to work on whatever the gadget was!
