Is this specifically a SW one you've seen or what? A quich google for "mackerel pate recipes" brings up loads that are easily adaptable. Just use free cottage cheese and replace cream with fat free fromage frais/Quark/a HEX of light soft cheese/whatever your preference.

BBC - Food - Recipes : Smoked mackerel pâté
Mackerel pate recipe - All recipes UK
Smoked Mackerel Pate with Philly & Horseradish
Smoked mackerel pâté recipe - Channel4 - 4Food

All easily adaptable, theres hundreds more out there :)

I can recommend this one, I used to make it all the time:

Smoked Mackerel Pate
4.5 syns and 1 HEA for the complete recipe

180 g smoked mackerel fillets with peppercorns (3.5 syns)
71 g Philadelphia Extra Light (HEA)
Juice ½ lemon
1 tbsp horseradish sauce (1 syn)

Remove the skin from the mackerel and break into pieces. Put all of the ingredients into a food processor and blitz until smooth and well combined.
Add salt and pepper to taste and refrigerate until ready to use.

That's the second recipe I posted above :)

I got it about 15 years ago from a M&S seasonal cookery book, it was delish.

Thanks ladies! It was a recipe I had a while ago I found it! :)

I tin of mackeral in brine
I onion
I boiled egg
2 slices of whole meal bread

You basically just blitz all the ingredients together!
Can use any other oily fish! Xx
