Spicy meatballs

Slimming tortoise :o)
Just tried the spicy meatballs & spaghetti recipe from the Winner's Dinners section of March/April edition of the SW mag and it is divine :D

I left out the garlic as I absolutely hate the stuff :sign0137:, but apart from that it was made to the letter.

Definitely one for you all to try if you haven't already and definitely a "keeper" for me :)

Hi, Not sure if this is the same one but this is the one I cook.

SPICY MEATBALLS
Serves 2-3
Free on EE
Pack of extra lean miced beef
one medium onion, grated
one medium onion, chopped
one red chilli, finely chopped
three cloves of garlic
tin tomatoes
carton of passata
mixed chopped peppers
half a dozen sliced mushrooms
Spray frying pan with fry light, fry the grated onion and two cloves of garlic, crushed. Add the chilli and fry until soft. Put to one side and start the sauce. Fry the chopped onion, third clove of garlic (either crushed or chopped), mixed peppers and mushrooms until soft. Add the tomatoes and passata and bring to boil, then simmer for about 20 minutes.
Whilst the sauce is simmering, mix the onion, garlic and chilli int with your mince and add a sprinkle of mixed herbs. Mix thoroughly, form into balls and place in a medium hot frying pan, sprayed with fry light. Turn frequently until cooked, about 20 minutes (depending on how big you make them).
Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for about 10 more minutes.
