About 6 months ago I looked in the mirror and thought I needed a good kick up the arse. I am an unfit, over weight smoker.
So 25th sept I gave up smoking, and 9th January I started running 3 times a week.
As far as dieting is concerned I do very well if I am in the ZONE. Here I am.. In the zone raring to go!
So I thought to myself what weight loss programme am I going to follow? I did weight watchers about 13 years ago and had great results, this was for my wedding and then I had my daughter, I then went to slimming world, again with great results Untill I became pregnant and had my son. For the last 4 yrs I have dabbled with slimming world on and off loosing a couple of stone and regaining it again. I know slimming world so well I have a lack of interest in it and tbh I haven't got the money to commit to it every week.
Monday I started counting calories, I've had a couple of wobbles in the week thinking that maybe I should stick to what I know but I am still here, I decided that I should stick to it for atleast a month before I make a decision if this is for me or not.
I also thought I should keep a diary.
I hope this does suit me as I am looking for a life style change c

My weight is 13st 4lb which I think is 182 lbs. by my own calculation I think I should have 1400 cals per day and I am exercising 3 times a week. I am resisting the temptation to hop on the scaled early weigh day is Monday!
 
My goals

5 weeks loose 10lb
9 weeks loose 20lb
By the beginning of may I would like to weigh 11 stone
Final goal 9 1/2 to 10 stone I'd like to achieve my goal weight by end of August.

By September 24th which will be my 1 yr anniversary of being smoke free I will be at my goal weight and I will be fit!
 
Huge well done on giving up smoking! I'm heavier than you at just over 15 st and have allowed myself 1600-1700 a day !
 
Thanks katoof, just passed the 4 month mark, it wasn't easy but I have managed to do it with out killing anybody, namely hubbie who also gave up, can you imagine atmosphere in our house for a few weeks lol, didn't get away totally unscathed though managed to put on a stone in weight! I was expecting it so not totally down hearted on myself... I have to look on the positives!! 6 months ago I set myself a challenge it came in 3 stages. Give up smoking, regularly exercise and loose weight, I have done the first 2 ;) and tackling the 3rd. How much weight have you lost so far ?
 
Woohoo had a sneakie peek on the scales today and I've already lost 4 lb making me 13st I will be extatic if they say 12 something on Monday. Which is my weigh day !!!

Well I think giving up smoking is amazing and like you said you are now exercising and eating well!

I can only dream of my scales saying 12 st something, good luck for Monday! I have list just over 9 stone since January 2011 but want to loose 5 st more so I have a ling journey ahead!

Let's face it I bet you didn't think when you started that you would be saying that you have lost 9 stone!!!!!
So you will get to 12 something!!!
You want to loose another 5 and I want to loose 4 do we will do it together
 
I decided to have a chicken byriani 834 cals 1645
So my total today is 1645.
I have also been running tonight so I have basically eaten the cals I burnt off during exercising
 
Well done. How are you enjoying the running? How far do you run and how often, I'm not the best runner.
 
Lol nor me Lisa ,...there are 4 of us who go out 3 times a week twice in the week we do a walk for 3 mins and run for 3 mins 5 times, on Sunday morning we do a 3 mile route again running and walking alternate. Sunday night I've just started at our local community centre Zumba and body attack on alternate weeks. Quite impressed with myself as 4 weeks ago I struggled to run for 40 seconds lol
 
Isn't it great when you realise the hard work is paying off and you are getting fitter! I love bodyattack ! I'm not a zumba fan though , too much wobbles for me
 
Too much wobbles on me what ever I'm doing, and when loosing weight it's like the stuffing goes so my wobbly bits are even wobblier lol
Tonight I've booked to enter the sports relief fund raiser which is 3 mile I'm hoping to run the majority of it, it gives me something to aim for
 
Just got back from Sunday mornin run, personal best 3 mile 40 mins...
Zumba tonight .... Bring it on!!

Thanks Lisa not amazingly quick I know , I think a lot of runners do it in about 20 mins, but taking into account I am 4 stone over weight and struggled to run for 40 seconds only 4 weeks ago I am soooo chuffed with myself!
 
It's not a race its about the effort and distance so yeah its amazing ! X x
 
Haven't actually counted my calories today, I had an apple for breakfast as I don't eat before running and it's too late when iget back. Ran 2 min and walked 2 min for 3 mile.
Lunch at inlaws loads of steamed fresh veg, mashed potato, quorn fillets splash of gravy and home made Yorkshire pud. 4 after eight chocolates and a coffee.
1 hr at Zumba 3 rivita 3 extra light laughing cow triangles, 6 slices of beetroot, 2 oranges. A hot bath and early bed.... I am shattered x
Weigh day tomorrow!
