Post Break Up Body

Had my midweek check-in weigh in this morning and things going in the right direction. Caught myself in the mirror and thought that I was looking slim, so feeling quite good about myself today.

For lunch, I am making a courgette pizza, which is halving a courgette lengthways and putting in the oven for 20 minutes, then topping with passata or pesto sauce, halloumi, olives and parmesan and back in the oven for 15 minutes. It gives me all the ingredients of a salad, but warm as I'm freezing in the house today.

Supposed to be eating jerk chicken for dinner but the house is doing a Costco shop today so I have a feeling they will be eating pizza again. That means I need to come up with something for myself.

Well, I just picked up a Too Good To Go bag, which is mainly cake! Oops oh well a treat after weigh in tomorrow. We'll see! Very warm here again. I half considered walking back, but OH had asked me to pick up some shopping, and I'm carrying my laptop, so better on the bus today

Oh I just heard about this yesterday! Seems like a very dangerous app. But I love that it reduces food waste.

Alright, eating an dinner of salmon fillet, spinach and mushrooms and cauliflower mash. I was definitely nicely under on calories so I put a healthy amount of butter in the mash making it very very moreish.

I've been thinking today about the potential imminent end to Minimins. The website renewal is due next Thursday. I was looking today for other forums online, but I just don't see anything like Minimins. There are some threads on sites like Mumsnet but nothing dedicated. Even though the site is very different to what it was 13 years ago, the last 6 weeks have been so helpful to have everything here to track and have the Easter challenge and other people to motivate. Fingers crossed it somehow still exists when I log in next Thursday/Friday.

I've started writing some notes down on my phone to keep myself motivated in case my diary is lost. Looking at my weightloss so far, I should only be on this diet for 1 or 2 more weeks, then switch to a higher calorie plan so I want to be sure I've got a track of my progress to help me focus as I transition.

I know what you mean - there isn't anything quite the same out there :-(

Friday is back again.

For lunch I made a sort of tuna casserole. Garlic fried in butter with milk and parmesan. Mixed with a tin of tuna and handful of spinach and put in a casserole dish topped with cheese. I estimated 400 calories.

Dinner should be wrap pizza as usual. It puts me a little bit over my 800 goal, but close enough.

oooo casserole sounds delicious. I will have to give that go!

I was thinking about snacks yesterday so had 2 biscuits watching the TV. That added 150 calories to my day, bringing me to 1000 calories for yesterday. A small moment of weakness and hopefully just a one off rather than telling of a drop in motivation.

Weighed myself this morning and lost 2lb over the week. I'm a little surprised it isn't more if I went purely from CICO calculations, but I know that I had a good healthy week and I'm comfortable with a steady loss.

We're heading into my two typically higher weight loss weeks in the month, but I've got some time away planned. Visiting my dad for a week next Thursday. So I'll weigh in Thursday morning and then again 9 days later after I get back. My dad's house is going to be very challenging. He has a very sweet tooth so there will be thousands of calories of cakes and ice-cream on offer, and very few options that fit in my diet. He is very dedicated to fitness though, so I could join his daily gym and swimming sessions :( or we could organise some long walks. Will take it one day at a time.

Saturdays food diary:

Late lunch of 1/3 cauliflower roasted, 1/4 red onion fried, 60g halloumi fried & 90g lentils. Cooked using around 100 calories of oil for a c. 400 calorie warm salad.

Dinner is jerk BBQ chicken which I will would estimate 250 cal for the chicken, plus 150 calories for coconut milk and 100 calories for kidney beans sweetcorn and oil. 500 calories total. I'll have it with cauliflower rice.

Another 900 calorie day.

Slight amendment to last nights food. The coconut milk and beans all went into the rice which I wasn't having, so my dinner was only 350 calories. I had a glass of white wine to get back to 900 for the day.

Lunch today is 90g lentils, 1/4 red onion, 1 courgette on the frying pan with 100 calories oil plus cauliflower rice and mix with Greek yogurt. 300 calories. Looks like slop but tastes so delicious.

Lamb roast for dinner. I'll avoid the potato and Yorkshire and stick to a small portion.

Had 2 small glasses of wine with dinner yesterday, so probably around 900 for the day again.

Having an early lunch today. 2-egg omelette with a few scraps of lamb from dinner. 300 calories.

I ordered some clothes online a couple of nights ago which are due to arrive today. I bought a trouser-waistcoat combo in a size 12, which I think I should be down to now. But I also bought a second pair of trousers in a 10 as a motivator. I have always enjoyed trying on my clothes that don't yet fit as a way to motivate me to lose weight, but currently all my small sizes are in storage so I bought something new.

Very excited to try on, but it could all be a disaster. The waistcoat particularly could be tricky as I carry a lot of my weight in my chest.

If nothing fits, I also bought myself a pair of shoes and a handbag. I know they will fit at least!

Dinner was beef burgers. I went without the bun and the chips. 260 calories for the burger, plus 100 calories of caramelised onion and salad. Then 135 calories from 2 ginger snaps.

Brings the day to an even 800 calories.

Nice to be able to fit in a couple of biscuits. I brought back all the packets from staying in hotel rooms last week. So I've had a light naughty snack twice in the last week. Biscuits are one of my vices, and having them prepackaged in twos is so helpful for me managing in moderation.

Had my midweek weigh in this morning and am thrilled to say that I have now lost 2 stone since starting. I could feel that I have been shedding weight the last 3 days and am down 3lbs since Saturday. This puts me 1lb above a healthy BMI.

This means that I should be almost finished with my stage 1 diet. I won't be able to follow it from Thursday for the week that I'm away, but I may return to fast 800 once I am back if I've put on weight.

Lunch is salad with some lamb scraps, caramelised onion and lentils. No oils used so it should be under 300 calories.

Dinner tonight is steak and eggs. Provided that I stick to around a 200g steak and a fried egg, it will fit in my plan for the day. My young nephew is doing the cooking and also making a cheesecake, so I may have to politely have a mouthful of that as well which will tip me over to around 1000 calories for the day.

Replaced the egg with a glass of wine but otherwise stuck to the plan yesterday. My sliver of lemon cheesecake was divine.

Today my clothes are due to arrive which I'm excited to try on. Size 12 top to try and size 10 and 12 trousers.

On to food: an Easter treat has appeared in the house - M&S Dippy Egg filled hot cross buns. They are chocolate hot cross buns with a white chocolate syrup centre. Apparently one of these is only 99 calories. I have no idea how that could possibly be true, but we are having a bit of a stare off in the kitchen this morning.

I'm planning for more lamb & caramelised onion salad for lunch. No lentils today, so I think a bit of goats cheese instead for around 300 calories.

Dinner is up in the air but I'll report back later. Feeling this could be the last day for this site, so better make the most of it.

I noticed the label for those when I was in M&S the other day, but there weren't any in stock. Given my general avoidance of UPF, they probably wouldn't end up in my basked anyway... but I was intrigued.

I LOVE their cheese ones, but they didn't have any in stock the other day, so I was safe!

Hot-cross anything is a win for me, but doesn't exactly align with my low-carb lifestyle. I have stayed away, but did instead eat the last packet of my stolen hotel biscuits. It's actually more calorific at 140 calories for the two biscuits, but I had mentally prepared to go through those, as opposed to other random sweets.

Feeling hungry today as it's unusual for me to get a mid afternoon snack. I have to pop to Waitrose later to get a host gift for the stay at my dad's, and I will pick up a low cal meal for dinner while I'm there.

I'm finding I'm eating more at the moment. But then I am out and about for long days
It's the straight from work and knowing I'm not going to eat until late that's a killer

Alright, dinner plans ruined. Someone came round for the afternoon so had two glasses of wine (300 cal) and some breaded chicken (300 cal). Total 1040 for the day.

That's a few days in a row creeping into the 4 figures. It's probably no bad thing as I should be upping my calories for next stage soon anyway.

Also, the clothes arrived and everything fit perfectly. It ruined my plan for a motivating pair of trousers, but it feels nice to say I'm wearing size 10 trousers. I have heard that the brand fits large though (me+em).

Driving across the country tomorrow - goodness knows what the next week is going to be like, but will try to stay smart on choices.
