Tinned Fruit syns?????

Hi all

Can anyone tell me why tinned fruit has syns.
I had a tin of pinapple this morning with my mullerlight and realised afterwards that the pinapple is 1 syn per ring. Is that because it is in juice, if so if I drained and rinsed it so would it be syn free then?

I think it's because you are likely to eat more tinned fruit than if you ate it from the fruit bowl; eg 1 tin of pineapple will contain more fruit than if you cut & ate it fresh.
