Llighterlife to Slimming World!!!!!!!
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has the experience of successfully changing from Lighterlife to Slimming World.
I've done LL a few times over the last 4 years, always successful weightloss then I start putting on again and before I know where I am i'm back where I started!!

I had a knee replacement back in November '10 then managed to lose 2 st on LL before my other knee replacement in March, so with both knees done and still 2 st to lose I mentioned to my Dr that I would like to restart LL May [ LL require you to wait 3 months after op before going back on it! ]
He has said to me that while he cannot stop me, he would like me to consider another way of losing the weight eg Slimming World as in his experience you can learn a lot more about your relationship with food and how it will help you with new life changing habits!

Against his advice I went back on LL [ I had 4 wks of packs I had bought from my sister in law when she fell pregnant] I lost 8 lbs but my heart wasn't in it, too many little cheats!!

I decided to change to SW on 8th June, lost 1lb the first week, didn't expect to lose any considering I went from LL one day to SW the next, so far this week I've lost 1.5lb with a weighin due Wednesday!
I must say I'm so enjoying the lovely variety of foods I can have and really do feel this is the way for me,
Would just like to hear from any others who have been through a similar transition!
I 've been reading through the posts on here for last 10 days and you are all such an inspiration.
Hoping to meet a lot of SW friends on here.

hi and welcome to SW :D I have made a similar transition from cambridge diet ( another TFR diet like LL) to SW . I did have a gain initially when I recarbed , which I was expecting , I do retain a lot of water , and my usual weight loss in my first week on cambridge was 14 lb ... so a gain was inevitable !!! I am loosing on SW ( have about 14 lb to go to target ) but much slower than most people loose , I totally understand that my body needs to get back into the habit of eating , and I am sure TFR diets slow down your metabolism , as you are consuming so little , but you can still loose , and SW is a great way to do so :D

Good luck :)

Hi I lost alot on cambridge then come off diets altogether now on sw

Hmmm basically I carry about 8 lb water weight which goes straight on when I come off tfr diets.... On top if that joyous 8 lb I gained another 10 lbs :-( well it was 7 but put on three past two weeks messing about with sw

I'm finding it hard so I stick to plan several days then go off the rails for a few days

I know if I stick to this plan an start to exercise again I can lose this dreaded 18 lbs!!!!

Hi ladies, thank you very much for your positive input to my question, i now realise it will be a slower weightloss due to the mess up with my metabolism!!!

I lost 1.5lbs this week but i'm not dissappointed in this, as long as i'm going down the way that will do me!
I may be on here a lot as you all seem to be very supportive.
Thanks again.
