What is CD?

I'm on day 6 of CD, I just want to clarify what exactly the diet entails...? My CDC didn't really explain, she just filled out the medical form and sold me the shakes etc and told me to eat 4 a day (I'm 5ft 10).

I've been having 4 a day and eating a bit of chicken, cottage cheese, spinach and lettuce because I felt faint and I can't afford to as I have a small baby. I asked my CDC if this was ok but she's not replied.. Will the extra food still make me lose weight? Or will it stop me getting ketotic?

Also I've just eating 2 bits of broccoli but I don't think that would be ok? Does that mean that if I was in ketosis it would have knocked me out? Eek!!

I'm so confused so any advice at all would be very much appreciated :)

Do u have the booklet?? My cdc says as long as i nibble in the aloud foods in ss+ i will stay in ketosis, so some chicken and brocoli will b fine??

I can not believe your CDC did not explain the diet to you, that certainly does not sound right, If I left there with questions I would find another one.

Anyway.... CD is the Cambridge diet which consists of drinking shakes/soups every day to lose weight. Over the first few days your body going into ketosis which means you body is now burning fat and you don't feel hungry and the weight falls of you if you stick to it.

You have many steps you can do, people usually start of with SS which stands for soul source and that is just having your packs per day and nothing else. Then there is SS+ which stands for soul source plus and that is having your packs every day plus a 200cal mean picking out of the book protein and 80g (about a table spoon) carbs you fancy. The next step would be 810 which consists of your packs, 200cal meal plus some skimmed milk.

You also need to drink at least 2.5 litres of water.

Have a good read through your book and decide which step to do.

I couldn't of done it this time without my meal, I do 810 and substitute skimmed milk for 150g fat free plain yoghurt.

Good luck am sure you will succeed..

Thanks guys... That really helps.

I don't have a booklet though? Maybe I should get another CDC?! Mine doesn't sound like she's doing what she should?!

Defo !! Have a look for a new one and go to them. Hopefully they will have time for you like they should do.

Definitely sounds like you need to find a new CDC! Mine is great - she leaves me to get on with it when I want to but I know she's always available by text, email or on the phone and will get back to me as soon as she can.

This diet is hard work, so the right CDC is absolutely essential!
