Hi, I'm Liquoricet, (I love liquorice torpedoes), I'm 39, mum to two little girls R and A and a 3 weeks in to my sw journey. I'm a fledgeling runner, very slow but can run 7.5k and have a 10k in may.
I want to lose weight to be able to run faster. I've been working hard on my self-image and using intuitive eating. I am trying sw as I think it is mainly a sensible eating plan (especially EE). So far, it's nicely building in a 'pause' to think about why I'm overeating or drinking which is quite helpful.
I don't want to be judgemental about food, I'm not good or bad depending on what I eat but I can make choices of food that is more or less nourishing.
I'm struggling because of Xmas, (so many tasty foods), the last two nights I've drunk too much wine though I've been on plan in the day (oops!). So no booze tonight!
Tomorrow I'm going to a really nice restaurant for a friend's birthday, we're eating a whole cooked suckling pig! I'm really looking forward to it - i suppose it's mostly on plan but will definitely have a little bit of crackling!
I want to maintain over Xmas...better get some runs in!
I'm 3 weeks in and weigh on a Thursday. My start weight was 17st 9.
Week 1 - 5.5lbs (17 3 1/2)
Week 2 - 2.5lbs (17 1)
Week 3 - 2lbs (16 13)

I'm going to be picking up the running in the new year too I have a date with race for life to work towards. You sound like you are taking a very sensible approach and well done for starting when you did. It would be all too easy to have waited until the new year
I'd love to follow your running routine if you post it as inspiration for mine when it begins

Thanks, I'm using a great app called zombies run (totally silly, it tells you a story while you run) and usually do a 5k Monday or Tuesday, a short run about 2.5/3k Thursdays and a longer run at the weekend (have got up to 7.5 but it took me an hour and 15 mins!
I meant to go out today but don't feel like it at the moment.
That's really impressive. I can do 1.3 miles and it takes me about 15 mins. I have no idea if that's any good though. Probably not haha. I did race for life last year and did it in 46mins so I'm looking to improve upon that but in not sure to what degree!!
Sounds like we're a similar speed. I did movember 5k in 48 minutes. I can keep going OK but now just want to speed up.
I think I need to focus more on stamina and keep going for longer. I'm more of a short sharp bursts runner really. I'd like to stretch it out. Problem being that where I live its sll

Are you finding you get extra hungry with the running and do you think it's helping lickthelid? I like that I can have a yoghurt after wards but has been enjoying a handful of cashews (recommended by the gym).
If I've done a longer run on a Sunday I do eat more and worry less about dh putting oil on my roasties/making real gravy!
Nom nom, off to eat suckling pig with crackling, roasties and other delicious things. Luckily I've built up an appetite as been for a 5k.
Hopefully it'll mitigate the damage!
Ive not been for a few weeks as I had a chest infection and my lung capacity was like a 40 a day smoker!! I don't find it increases my appetite much but my goodness do I get thirsty!! I tend to find that when I have been for a run or maybe done some Zumba or something I am actually more careful. Maybe because I think that if I have moved my butt to go and do something I don't want to undo the good work!

Well the pig was yummy and I reckon the meal was not bad syns wise (just a bit of oil for potatoes and other roast stuff) but I had 2 pints cider so that'll have well and truly blown them! At least I went for my run beforehand.
I'm now replete and wonderfully full!

Your dinner sounded immense. I love pork, particularly crackling. Possibly one of the myriad of reasons why I'm here haha.
It was really tasty, the crackling wasn't crunchy enough though. DH makes better roast belly pork.
I'm not very hungry today (for some strange reason). Not very on plan either. (Posh mini mince pies are 5 syns, eek!) And had seeded bread with blue cheese for lunch. It was yummy.
I did promise myself a week off. Unfortunately I weigh on boxing day and 2nd Jan so am expecting a gain though scales are being nice at the moment. Maybe the running is a counter balance?
Man I'm full up! I'm getting weighed tomorrow after an enormous roast goose leg dinner with broccoli, carrots (slow cooked in butter), homemade stuffing and potatoes in goose fat! (Plus fizzy wine and red wine).
Oh dear! We've not had xmas pud yet as we're too full up.
