thank you so much everyone. my bf is only being caring but he seems to think that unless you are eating starchy foods you aren't getting fibre. Guess I'll just have to educate him.

Cheers for that. I am making adjustments at the moment that are significant enough for me. Maybe in the future I will make further adjustments. I know if I did anything too drastic I would just fail. So baby steps is the way I'm takng it. What I'm doing at the moment seems to be working...

Jim - luckily when it comes to Real Ale a lot of pubs don't really keep it right, so I don't mind having a white wine soda. But if it was on good form everywhere, I would probably miss it more. What is strange is the first week I decided to low carb I just did it on my own - guessing the kind...

    fibre

Hi everyone, Sorry if this has been covered before, but I was hoping someone could instruct me as to the best way to get fibre without eating carbs. I am following a low-carb plan as opposed to Atkins, but was hoping you could give me some suggestions. My partner is worried I'm not getting...

    What are we eating today?

You could always go for a ploughmans lunch if they have one - loads of cheese and ham -yum! Or a salad sometimes. Or as Jim says get a steak, chicken, pork chop, mixed grill. In pubs thye usually come with loads of veggies or salad and just leave the chips.

G&T always good. This place does a really nice gin that I enjoy drinking with lots of ice and a few good squeezes of lime - no mixer at all. It is soo smooth Would that be ok - How many carbs would I expect to get from that? I know oranges are a no go.

    Confessions and warnings

Tis my friends 25th on Saturday and we're going out. I don't have to worry about avoiding cake but we are going to a place called the cocktail factory. I'm thinking of trying to stick to champagne cocktails or maybe a martini - anybody else got any ideas? Can't bear whisky (yak!)

pearl and emerald earings - sounds amazing. I was at a wedding on saturday night and ate 3 vol-u-vonts (sp?) and some home made scotch egg. Nothing has changed on the scales but have felt pretty bloated ever since - not fun. On Sunday morning I was incredibly bloated. Lesson learned!

I have felt better whilst low carbing. I'm a pretty active person anyway, so haven't really noticed a change in energy levels. But I feel better as I feel less bloated. And with the exception of one or two 'fed up' days I've generally felt happier as I feel better about my body. Whilst its...

Hi everyone. I have been low carbing for about a month now, and have lost 6/7 pounds. I am happy with this. But want to continue losing, and wouldn't mind if I lost a bit quicker. So, to keep me focussed I am going to post my food diary on here. I would really appreciate any comments...

Courgettes! Coming out of my ears!

courgettes are also quit good for grating into foods to bulk them out. courgette ribbons are good too. our courgettes are yellow so even look like pasts. I'm sure you could leave the breadcrumbs out and it would be fine. Variations could always be to put blue cheese or a brie in with it.

Courgettes! Coming out of my ears!

We grow courgettes so have come up with some fab reciepes for them. My fave, and what I am eating tonight with salmon and green beans is as follows: 2 large courgettes, sliced thinly, and fry them in olive oil until a little soft ten put them in an oven proof baking dish. Then in the same...
