Wow, that's fantastic. I'm well jealous. How long were you on a VLCD for?

Thinking of joining , what are losses like ?

Hello :) How much of a hurry are you in to lose those last two stones? Are you struggling to stick to Cambridge or are you still finding it quite easy? As Abz says, if you come straight off Cambridge and go on to SW, you'll almost certainly gain weight, maybe up to half a stone or more...

I am fed up and annoyed!

Thanks Deb. :) Yasmine, I'm still feeling your pain hun, though maybe not so acutely as you, as I have at least lost 4 pounds since I started on SW four weeks ago. But I've stayed the same for the last two weeks now :sigh: (and the week before that I gained a pound back after losing 5 pounds...

I am fed up and annoyed!

Um... That's not actually true. For some reason, some consultants say this - but Head Office have never said this is the case. In fact, the FAQs quite clearly state that you don't even have to have your HEXs at all, just that it's advisable to have them for good health. {runs away and...

Ready to throw in the towel !!

It must be completely and utterly frustrating. :hug99: And like many of the others here, I've seen your other posts and know that you're following the plan to the letter. I have no doubt that SW would work for you... eventually. But it sounds like 'eventually' isn't soon enough - you simply...

What? come again? how is this possible??

Ah, but... Exercising does cause water retention (and therefore, a small amount of temporary weight gain), particularly if you're not used to exercising. It is the body's way of allowing the muscles to recover after exercising and provides a means for the body to flush away lactic acid. So...

I am fed up and annoyed!

If I remember rightly, you were on Lipotrim before you started SW, weren't you? I have a similar problem in that I switched from Cambridge to SW - and in fact, the last time I tried SW, what you say is happening to you happened to me - I too did the diet 100%, lost 5 pounds the first week then...

    Mix & Match Healthy extras??

Per the SW FAQs, this is the answer: Q: Can I mix and match my Healthy Extras by halving the portions? A: Yes, if you like - you’ll still lose weight beautifully! The downside is your speed and fibre symbols would have to be ignored unless your two halves had identical symbols. However...

    heb value

227g of potato is 6 Syns. 57g of potato (raw weight), flesh and skin is 1.5 Syns. So 227g potato (raw weight), flesh and skin = 6 Syns. I think you may have been looking at the Syn value for cooked weight. :)

    Red Days Is this OK???

Wouldn't that be because it's supposed to be 28g porridge plus a Scan Bran? That's where the additional Syn disappeared off to, I think. And the potato is 1.5 Syns per 57g raw weight (flesh and skin) - so 227g potato is 6 Syns.

    Red Days Ideas for lunch

Don't forget that you can have a jacket potato on red days too - okay, so the one cook puts in for you might be bit bigger than 227g but you could always Syn the extra bit, if you know what I mean. :) Every extra 28g would be 1 Syn, I think. I do this a lot on red days and stuff it with very...

No need to apologise, Pesty - I think it's actually quite good that this sort of thing comes up here on the forum. Ice Cream Recipes

Well... My frozen yogurts do taste like, well, frozen yogurt when popped in my ice cream maker. But the consistency is right, that's the thing. If you use the stirring every 20-30 minutes method (i.e., don't use an ice cream maker), you still seem to end up with ice crystals - well, I did...

I'd like to know the answer to this one. My mate, who's lost more than 5 stones on SW in the last year, seemed to chomp loads of ready-prepared and chopped fruit during her weightloss phase - she worked on the basis that it's free (and it's clearly been fine for her). But then again, isn't...

As I understand it, it's not so much the medication that messes with your weight loss as the infection itself. Any infection may cause water retention - it's one of the body's natural defence mechanisms to help heal itself. The good news is, everything sorts itself out once the infection's...

It certainly isn't the 'official line' that you have to Syn your HEX B if you don't have the full amount, more something that some well-meaning but misinformed Consultants tell their groups. If this was true, it would be in the book and in the information online. It isn't. :) I think the...

    Calories divided by 20 = syns :)

Surely though if a food has a free food allowance, it'll work out as less than a Syn per 20 calories? At least you'll have an idea of worst case scenario - that 220 calories of whatever it is will only be 11 Syns at the very worst. 220 calories worth would never equate to 20 Syns, unless...

I agree about seven pounds actually being a really good loss. Scales lie. They don't mean to. It's not personal. :) But they can't tell the difference between your lean muscle mass, fat, bone and water. So they can't tell that you've actually lost fat, but for whatever reason, you're...
