    A good rule of thumb is if it is above the neck ie runny nose, headache it is fine to work out. If it is below the neck ie chesty cough, muscle aches, shivers then rest until well.

    I like to run and that burns about 100 per mile. I run about 30 miles a week (minimum) and I also do a 1 mile swim, 1 hour circuit session and 1 hour with a trainer. So the answer is a lot! :) Add in the dog walking, a wee bit of fell walking ...! I never really thought about it before...
