Not eating all day before weigh in

I weigh in at 5.30pm, so I'll eat and drink as normal up until 3pm(ish) and then have nil by mouth until after I've weighed. I've done it every week since I started and its my normal Thursday habit now!

    Slow losses

I'm feeling exactly the same. Just had a little cry about it actually, its pathetic really. I know slow is the best way to do it, but I had a lb gain last week despite being 100%, and (even though I know I shouldn't before WI) just weighed myself today and it looks like I'll be in for another...

    Tips and Advice please

Welcome Violetwind! Well done for chosing SW, like you I yo-yoed for a long time, sometimes very unhealthily, and Slimming World is the first thing I've tried that I don't feel deprived on but it still WORKS. I've not been on very long (2 months) and I'm sure other long-term members will have...

    Harvest morn cereal bars

As far as I know the Light ones (70cals or less) can be used, 2 for your HExB. My consultant brought the Orange & Choc ones in as an example for Healthy Extras, and I trust her to be right!

Why are there calories in Costa/Starbucks coffees???

Starbucks do a fab filter coffee, just ask for it with space for milk and add it yourself at the sugar/milk station. Its cheaper too!

Someone give me a major kick up the backside!!!

*Kicks up backside* You SHOULD be excited! Its brilliant that you want to get back to SW, its a lifechanger and I really believe that as long as you keep your head straight, your body will follow. And it'll thank you for it! Just imagine how amazing youll feel even after the first week knowing...

How much can I lose before school starts?

Of course you can, easy peasy, good luck and enjoy it! Bet you can't wait to see the look on everyones faces when you go back as a skinny minny :P I want to be Club 10 by my birthday (16th August) and was on track until last week, so now I'm going to be SuperSpeeding as much as possible to keep...

    Thursday Weighers

I found your half pound, on my ass :( I've had a 0.5lb gain this week, but it's my time of the month so I guess it could've been a lot worse, and I think my very naughty weekend two weeks ago has caught up!

Oh no.... I just had a massive bingey day:(

Ditto what everyone else said. On Sunday I had a full roast followed by two, TWO, different types of pudding, I knew I could either feel bad about it and give in, or feel bad about it for an hour and just keep to the straight an narrow the rest of the week and just keep those fingies crossed for...

Hi! Welcome, I'm new too so don't worry ;) I've only been doing it a month butI've read up on it A LOT so I'll try and help anyway: Regarding your plan, as far as I'm aware you can do whatever you like, mix Red/Green/EE through the week, or just pick one and stick with it, whatever you fancy...

    Whats your next goal(s)?

I want to be in my Club 10 by my birthday (August 16th) which means losing another 12lbs, but closer than that, I've just got my half stone award so I'm aiming to get to my stone in the next 5/6 weeks :D

    Thursday Weighers

Yeah, the target members in my group seem to have as much trouble maintaining as we do losing, it is a bit of a constant battle but you've got to remember that they need you there too, you're still an inspiration to the rest of the group, despite a possible gain! I think the best thing to do...

    Thursday Weighers

Hi! I'm a Thursday weigher too, excited and nervous in equal measures, I wish someone else could do it for me sometimes but I guess it's all part of it. Never thought there was such a thing as 'too much' fruit, but that does seem like an awful lot! Not sure what my digestive system would make...

    Whats for tea tonight?

AMAZING idea! Yay! I'm going to try that this weekend :D I had Quorn sausages with mustard mash (smooshed with half a tin of mushy peas I had hanging about) and a large salad. Bit odd but our fridge has packed up so I can't be the culinary queen I usually am! :P

    20 somethings

Hi Jenna! I have minimum 2stone to lose, maybe more (I'll decide when I get there), have already lost half a stone in less than a month which is a bit slower than I expected but it's healthy for me! It's tough getting your head around eating things that other diets don't allow, like pasta and...

One for the LADIES!...Slimming world and time of the month.....

Urgh what I nightmare! I'm sure may of us can sympathise. Weight Loss Simulator

I just did mine and the results actually scared me a little....meaning I prefered the 'Before' me to the 'After', it looked like a skinny bobble-head! Although of course the simulation doesn't account for all the lumpy bumpies and cellulite, haha.

    Slimming world v atkins

I echo everyone above, Atkins is good for a 'quick fix', but isn't a healthy way to lose and keep off weight. I'd say stick with SW, as I don't agree with any diet that demonises food groups. (Also I've known a few people who've done Atkins, it really DOES make you smell funny!)

    Ex-bulimics?

Hi all, I was hoping to find a thread like this somewhere here, I'm really glad I have. I suffered mainly restrictive eating and chew-and-spit for nearly 3 years, aged 19-22, then relapsed two years ago when I slipped all to easily into obsessive exercising and restricting again. I had an...

    another reason to avoid chinese...

I'm also sensitive to MSG, get the headaches and find my heart racing after eating foods containing it. If you read into what it actually does to your body (causes chemical lacerations in your taste buds to give you a more intense flavour) its awful, and I do think it needs to be banned.

    Weekly syns

I've found that sticking to the daily targets are good, but its nice to add up at the end of the week and see how you're averaging. For example last week I thought I was really naughty, but added it all up and actually only had 74 syns out of 105!

    mindless eating

I was going to ask the same question, sometimes I'll open the fridge, see my stash of Mullerlights and think 'Ooh! Free!' regardless of hunger. Its purely psychological and I need to STOP it!

my personal targets this week are...

Good luck everyone! Mine: 1. More superspeed foods every day, still worried that my Download Festival cheat weekend will catch up! 2. More excercise, 30 mins walking at LEAST. 3. Re-start food diary, it DOES help and it halts my snacking.

    Whats for tea tonight?

I spend half the week with my SW God of a boyfriend, and the other half at my parents who are FEEDERS. Tonight is a parent night so I'm scared to say the least! I might insist on cooking, if I do it'll be grilled salmon, mustard mash and peas. Fingers crossed!

I don't know if anyones mentioned it already, but GRAPEFRUIT work exactly the same! If you need to make up for a naughty weekend, have one (or half) with every meal and its pretty much guarenteed you'll lose! Plus they taste a bit better than lemons :P What a fab thread!

    Will slimming world work again?

I'd never done SW before, but have done lots of other similar diets and ate very healthily all the time, so I was really sceptical at first that I would lose anything at all. Is anyone else a SERIAL weigher?

I couldn't resist during my first week of SW and had a cheeky hop onto my home scales...only for it to say I'd PUT ON 3lbs. Had a little cry and went to my first WI anyway, where I discovered I'd actually lost 5lbs, so my home scales were out by over half a stone! They are now in the bin and...
