Extra Easy Time to take off the training wheels? No diary?

Thanks all for the advice. I think I'll go back to a diary, and wait until I'm at target to start messing with a good thing. I like the idea of keeping track of just HE As and Bs, as well as syns. Though, I think it's good to keep track of meals. I'll go back to keeping a diary again! I've...

Extra Easy Time to take off the training wheels? No diary?

I thought everyone was keeping food diaries on SW (!) My consultant said I don't have to keep a food diary anymore. She said it's only for the first 4 weeks, and I continued to beyond 6 weeks. I stopped then on Friday and over the weekend while away. I know I wasn't 100% on plan, as there were...

    Small weight losses.

"Slow and steady" sounds like a good motto. I've been losing about a pound a week. Which is certainly slow. But it's going in the right direction. Maybe you should talk with your consultant after the meeting, privately, about the reasoning behind the big push for big numbers. Tell the consultant...

    SO GUTTED

Sounds like a good plan :) I had a rough weekend at a work event. Usually these involve lots of drinking, so I was able to stay away from lots of booze. But then I was feeling left tout and deprived... so I grabbed a kit kat and snacked when I shouldn't have. Then the cycle of feeling bad just...

anyone else loving jamie oliver 15 mins meals, healthy style

My husband and I are treating it like a cooking class. Many of them can be made very low syn, or even free. I add extra veg to increase the superfree part. Example: Gorgeous Greek Chicken with Herby Vegetable Couscous & Tzatziki - Add roasted veg. I did a tray of peppers, white onions and...

Is anyone else a SERIAL weigher?

I weight myself every morning when I wake up. And write it down. I don't know if it's bad, but I like to see the progress. I got a 2 pound weight gain after eating out a few times and generally falling off the wagon at the end of this week. I know it might be from salt- but it's a good warning...

    Pcos and metformin....

I was prescribed it after I had already started on Slimming World. In those first weeks I was losing 2-3 pounds a week. After I started metformin, it was down to 1-1.5 pounds. Of course, it could just be due to the fact that things slow down after a few weeks on any diet. I stopped drinking...

New to SW with PCOS - Advice needed :)

Hello Amanda! Eyes on the prize :) Fertility is my main goal as well. Stick with it you can do it! I just got my 1 stone award on Thurs. SW is working out v well. Though, right after I got my award I indulged in some 'celebration', which involved 2 bad days: wine and pretzles and a lunch out...

    PCOS issues with SW

I am PCOS, and have lost 1 st with SW since I started! Breakfast involves Soya milk for me -but not because I'm lactose intolerant. My husband is, and I don't care much for milk. Dairy isn't required, but calcium has been proven to help with weight loss, so that is why they include it. Soy milk...

How Slimming World Works - Advice for Newbies (Updated for 2015)

Mrs Vix, that doesn't look like enough veg (superfree) in each meal, and maybe not enough food in general. Do you have a group? My advice to anyone starting is: Make sure to fill out the measurements in your book. I wish I had done that! Now that I've lost a stone, I can feel it in my clothes...

Before and during - so far so good.

I love the photo you prepared. V funny idea! It would be cool if there was a weight-loss ticker that showed the weight you lost and then what things weight that same weight!

    Feel rubbish!!

Seems like most people in my group do Extra Easy. Now, with the new book there's also a super speed version, where you focus on increasing the proportion of superfree from 1/3 to more. Maybe you should switch to Extra Easy? The WW and SW diets are similar in that they both are calorie...

    Low Syn Chocolatey Puddings?

I wish they could invent a low-syn GU!! For now, here are some alternatives - Marks & Spencer - Count on Us Chocolate Muffin Dessert, individual, chilled, 110g pot 7½ - Alpro Soya Chocolate pudding - 5 1/2 syns I wish I could find a hot chocolate pudding though. Like the microwave ones. that...

    Weight loss (SO FAR)

You look great, well done!! I agree on seeing people at your target weight "at their fattest". However, we're all on the same goal to be healthier. I'm looking forward to being 160lbs - I remember thinking how HUGE I was - and now I'll be delighted :) Thanks for sharing, it's great to see...

Syn values - veg cooked in oil? What about Fry light spray?

I am confused... it says veg like parsnips, carrots, etc, cooked in oil have a syn value- and raw or not cooked in oil are syn-free. OK, that makes sense. But what about the Fry light? Is that considered "cooked in oil" or not? I don't know how many pumps I used, but I did slather the veg in...

New to SW with PCOS - Advice needed :)

I am PCOS [diagnosed from ultrasound and confirmed by my chin hair :( ] - My doctor said "stay away from carbs"... I tried that, by taking always 1/2 the rice or pasta that I served my husband, and it has made no difference. So I just joined SW last week. I see loads of carbs are free, and...

Welcome to Newbies 2013 - Say Hello here!!!

New to Slimming World - started last Thursday. Convince by my sister - she has lost 3 st, 9lbs- and it has changed her outlook on life. And she and I are the same size (18) for the first time in our lives. So the race is ON. I'm not sure of my goal. Maybe not having aching heels after a walk...

Newbie Posting Privileges and Links Policy!

The instructions about "links" should be more clear. I actually added a link to an off-site recipe in my first forum (not a link to my site). It's queued for moderation, so I assume someone will see it's not spam. But the allowed links list doesn't mention "On topic off-site links".

    quinoa porridge

(I submitted the recipe, but it's waiting for approval.) Just reporting back on how this is: YUMMY. Really good!! Maybe even better than oat porridge actually. Quinoa doesn't have a strong flavour, and the texture was nice- not as gooey as oats. This recipe says it has 2 servings, but I ate...

She lost 3 st 9lbs. (she wants to lose about 4 st more to get to target of 11 st). But she said it is so...
