Hi has anyone else noticed they are more bloated while following SW ? I 're joined in Jan and was doing ok weight loss a bit slow so to be honest did more calorie counting and I've been doing well anyway decided I'd really like to follow the SW plan again and have been 100% the last couple of days . Well just tried on a dress today and it looks like I'm pregnant bearing in mind tried same dress on beginning of the week and looked nice . They's no way I'd wear it looking like that ! I'm so disappointed as lots of people I know do really well on Sw and wanted to give it a 100% week but after only a couple of days back at it feel I'm better doing C C :/ I have eaten more pasta plus more fruit and veg so far any advice please would really appreciate it from a frustrated SW member :(

I was getting massively bloated when I first joined. Painful and embarrassing looking 6 months gone!

I cut back on bread
Pasta I have rarely
Potatoes maybe once a fortnight

Lots of fresh fruit peppermint tea & fennel helps!

Mainly just reducing the volume helped me as I have crohns

I think for non ibd sufferers your body should adapt to the high fibre

I was so bloated for the first week and a half, and this might be tmi, but somewhat constipated too. It does pass! It's just all the high fibre foods, but give it another couple of weeks and you'll be fine, your body adjusts.

I was bloated at first but it turned out to be water retention, im fine now and drink plenty of water and green tea xx

I've just joined on here but wanted to say I've been following EE for a week and 4 days and I also look pregnant. I love carbs, but only having smallish portions of pasta, rice, potato etc.....so hope it goes down soon. I must just say I haven't been to the loo properly though in two weeks....will be visiting gp on tuesday xx

I felt bloated my first week and was terrified id gained - turned out I lost 3.5lb that week. If I have a day or 2 off plan, then get back on it, I tend to feel bloated again for a couple of days.

Yes, I did at first, too. I think it's very common. It took about a week to settle down and SO much better when I cut out the pasta and bread. Broccolli, too, though I do love it so still cook it :) How are you feeling now? x

Come to think of it, and forgive me if this is nothing new :) but..

... if you've switched from calorie counting to SW you've no doubt identified foods that are relatively high calorie and were restricted but now are "free" and it's easy to up the portion sizes if they are allowed freely. Those might be your culprits.

It may also be the veggies and fruit. As I hear every week; "Eat lots of superfree", "eat as many of those as you can", "eat more" etc. etc. Portion control is still massively important IMO and you are good at that from your CC so stick with your gut instinct (pun intented), and things should settle down really quickly for you. x

It has improved since I cut down the carbs and not too much fruit . I am still bloated just not so bad I use to have really bad IBS and really improved while CC so think I may be better off sticking with CC or adapting SW a bit as don't want my IBS to get worse . Thanks for replies x

Oh hun, I have IBS too so I sympathise! Changing diet can really mess things up, can't it? Wish there was a cure. My OH can eat anything he likes and be fine. So jealous!

Glad you're feeling better :) x

I have IBS and am really suffering at the moment. After nearly a year on SW, I am begining to think it's not for me

From my Android Tablet, with added typos.

Not sure if SW suits everyone as everyone's different wish I could do better on it as although I do well CC having said that its slowing down don't think I'm eating enough ! Plus not having to log all that you eat which can be done on SW as really only need to log hexs and syns . I'm a bit fed up with " dieting " at the moment Ill be weighing in later this morning then taking a day off I feel like I need a days break plus out with family meal tonight . Will be back on track tomorrow tho as promised myself a years commitment to loose some weight .
