Hello everyone. Had my 5th week weigh in last night and lost 7.4lbs, I'm now just 4lb away from 3 stone, all in 5 measly weeks, I cannot believe it. A neighbour see me this morning and said "Christ you've lost weight" I said yeah I've had a gastric band fitted.....the look of sheer horror on her face...
I'm lucky to have loads of old pairs of jeans stored away in the wardrobe which I'm now wearing as my "fat" jeans now no longer fit as they're too big. My wedding ring will need to be altered soon as it keeps slipping down my finger and trainers are rubbing on my feet where they have lost weight too. I tell ya, its soooo much hassle losing weight ; )
These of course are trivial things compared to the bigger picture, I know already by just losing this weight I am at less risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnoea (spelling) etc... It makes me smile to think that if I keep going I will enjoy running around the park and playing with my son and I will be proud to be his Dad, not embarrassed because I've taken him to school and the kids have teased him because his Dad is fat.
As you can tell, I'm on a bit of high today and am proud of what I've achieved already, long may it continue.
Keep going everyone, as it has been said on this forum many times, onwards and downwards!
Mark.
