Abi's weightloss diary - post jaw surgery

yep i knew exactly what you were talking about abz lol i aint even joking. the short bread-y biscuits with the sugary feel and the raisins? absolutely, i was right with you haha. my nan's favourites. Luckily for me, although i love short bread im not the biggest fan of raisins so i don't eat them much. x

I can honestly say I have never heard of a squashed fly biscuit!! I think I know which ones you mean, but thinking of the raisins as dead flies is not making me tempted to try one!!!! I'll stick to my rice cakes that smell like home perm solution....

used to love them :D not good for dunking in tea though... and let's face it. that's the sign of a real biscuit :D i have a real weakness for chocolate hobnobs...

ooh. just remembered that dark choc forerro rocher i got given in the supermarket yesterday as a tester. i might actually eat it now... ha. although the thought of eating chocolate makes me feel funny. the mindset i set myself must have been pretty damn convincing the way i keep reacting to food today!!

wow. we really know how to treat ourselves don't we :D

have to say, move over milk choc forerro rocher because the dark ones are divine. but i've had one and you know? i don't even want to contemplate another. i think cd has turned my brain inside out and made me see the sense on the other side!!

Woo, good for you! Them dark choc ones are WELL expensive, even in the sale! Well, for what they are and the quantity. As for chocolate hobnobs - you've hit the nail on the head. I used to buy a pack at uni and basically inhale the lot in one sitting. So now I don't buy them at all lol. Them and those foxes custard cremes. YUUUUUUUMMMMMM x

custard creams? ew. ha. the occasional craving but find them too sickly generally. although last night one of my mates was raving about the nigella lawson custard creams which are apparently amazing...

mmm. squashed flies :D

well the cardboard biccies are growing on me. not sure whether that is a good thing or not, ha.

only an hour until i get out of here and can meet up with folk.

they are going to eat out first so my best mate is coming over to mine and i am going to make veggi spag bol and then they are going to come to mine and we are going to have a few drinks. so that's all good. and i can tidy up a bit and hopefully get the spare room ready as well. well. OH can, he's good at that. guess i'll be on kitchen duty...

the foxes ones have lovely hobnob-y but tough biscuits. they are to die for. infact, i had one yesterday. just one mind...

sorry night owl :S x

i think i have come off hobnobs for the timebeing. i'm not really fancying biscuits at the mo.

hmm. think i'm going to have that other satsuma. eddie izzard springs to mind with a flumpf flumpf flumpf munchy munchy munchy :D :D

ooh choccy hobnobs, my favs.
and the squashed flie biscuits are "garibaldi" not sure why there called that, but i have often eaten a whole packet in 1 sitting.

i had my 1st drink of months the other day, i din`t hit me as i thought & no hangover..........very strange, wish you the same luck abz x

ooh i hope so. but i have a feeling that one glass of wine is going to knock me sideyways :)

and garibaldi. of course they are called that, ha. i'm sure i would have known that if i'd just thought about it... but i've always called them squashed fly biscuits :D :D

how are you doing today buffydog?

Ooooo garabaldi .. love them!!!

The Garibaldi biscuit was named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, an Italian general and leader of the fight to unify Italy, who made a popular visit to Tynemouth in England in 1854. It was first manufactured by the Bermondsey biscuit company Peek Freans in 1861 following the recruitment of one of the great biscuit makers of Scotland, John Carr. In the United States, the Sunshine Biscuit Company for many years made a popular version of the Garibaldi with raisins which it called "Golden Fruit". Sunshine was bought out by the Keebler Company which briefly expanded the line to include versions filled with other fruits, but ultimately killed the product entirely.

i`m doing well today, but have had 2 atkins bars....they taste so good..... will exchange them for the meal i was gonna have later.
only 2g carbs & 140 cals, so not too bad

that pic of garilbaldi`s is making my mouth water.
you used to have to snap the biscuits off, but i used to just eat it as one massive biscuit...........lol
used to convince myself they were a heathly choice

hee. well my cardboardy versions have apple in them...

bless her. my friend has offered to pay for me to go to little tokyo as my christmas present... and i have refused :D i just don't think i would be able to resist all the yummy bad options and i've only been eating for a day. i would rather have my spag bol and be on safe ground and have a couple of glasses of wine later :) go me :D

well guys. had a great night last night chatting with my friends. had a couple of glasses of wine and a few nibbles. scales were on the up a bit this morning but with eating i suppose they will fluctuate a lot more. hopefully they'll go back down again.

food choices today weren't sterling as we went to the german christmas market, but i ate an awful lot less than everyone else. had about quarter of a plate of cheesy pasta and every else finished off the rest. which was great except it cost me a bloody fortune. had a bite of a piece of garlic bread and a small cup of mulled wine. i do, however, have a donut in my bag that i will probably eat before the end of my shift at 11pm... ha. but have had a jacket potato with low fat cheese and chive filling at 400 cals for tea and am now full up so we'll see about the donut.

also made spag bol for me, OH and a friend last night and ate about a quarter of what they did and had a skinny cow ice lolly for dessert while friend had the rest of the pie. so i am making much better choices generally. i just shouldn't sit next to the matchmakers... i'll remember that next time, hee.

water consumption hasn't been great today so i've gotten onto that, but i'm here until 11 so i'm sure i'll catch up.

how is everyone else doing?

Glad you had such a good time Abz - the weight will fluctuate at first while body gets used to it, am sure you'll have it steady in no time :)

well i'm totally chuffed with myself. that chocolate filled donut with a cherry on top just went in the bin...

i had left it so long before eating it (i wasn't hungry when i bought it) that it was stale when i came to eat it just now. i had two small bites and then thought 'why the hell am i eating this. it isn't that nice' and it is now in the bin behind me.. i can't believe it. previously i would have continued to eat it anyway, just because it was a donut. but i thought, if i'm not enjoying it then why am i eating it?

bit gutted though because it was the most expensive donut on the planet at £1.50. but then i figured eating it when i didn't want it wouldn't help the fact i'd wasted my money.

bit of a moment for me...

p.s. i have however kept the little german flag that was stuck in the top when i opened the bag. i didn't know about that, ha.
