Abi's weightloss diary - post jaw surgery

ha. been there and done that clarri. my dad had me living in a caravan in a field full of pigs and we had a shower that we hooked up in the stable block and we had no toilet for a while and planted veg... so i'm so far away from that now i know how to be grateful!! ha. that's when i used to practically live with my grandma half the time... no surprises i didn't like visiting. but what my dad said was right. i almost look at it fondly now, ha.

well i rang the docs to see if they could just do me a prescription but the doc came on the phone and said i should call in as my back has been bad on and off for a couple of years now. i really didn't realise it had been over two years!! so i just got back. they are sending me off for an mri scan in the next couple of weeks to check for soft disc and nerve problems... i almost hope they find something just so i know what it is!!

tesco shop was a success but all half price catfood was gone. totally gutted as that's why i went... never mind. got veg and fruit now :)

having a quickie sandwich so that when i go swimming soon i don't feel bleurgh.

oy cheeky chops!!

well i have been swimming and managed half a mile. was in a 50m pool too and it's surprising how much that takes it out of you...

also went and bought a new knitting pattern for my goddaughter because i can't find the one i already had.

oh. thomas just walked in the room and has told me that our car has failed the MOT 100% which is interesting given it passed 100% last year... so... new car then huh... sweet timing *sigh*. it would cost over £600 to fix and the car really isn't worth that much. what's really annoying is that we just paid £100 for part of it to be fixed so it would sodding run. ah well. i think he's talking to his mum to see if we can be bailed out somehow by her. she's always trying to give us money and i refuse but this is up to him. i can't drive so it isn't my car. if he wants to talk to his mum about it so be it.

i'm off on autotrader :)

Whiskas do a nice line in whole chunks in pouches if you're interested for special occasions Abz - although you might get away with supermeat for a spag bol or a curry :8855::8855::8855:
 
£600 is steep!!! Any chance of having it done cheaper elsewhere?
 
the car is a banger gem. it's 16 years old. any kind of work on it is too much to pay really...

OH is trying to get in touch with his mum now. i'm just staying out of things. if we have to get another banger to last us another year then we'll just do that. but ours has had it!!

Here here on that one. Talk about testing times. BUT sounds like you and oh are very very close, to be able to weather all this and agree, and work together, I think that may be the test, and you seem to have passed with flying colours, certainly a well deserved wedding, (or something like that, dont know what I mean really but you know what I mean!!)

ha. well we went through this from the start clarri :)

well OH's folks are going to lend us 12000 danish kroner which at the mo is around £1400, and my mum said she'll lend us anything else we need. which i reckon, since we need to get a car that will last, for once, is about £500. i've seen a few and rang up about a few. i don't think we'll have a problem getting one before the MOT runs out on this one. although i'd rather get rid of it as soon as possible as i feel like i have a death wish driving around in it. OH has taken it to the garage to hoover it now. i've been talking to a chap about getting one tonight but somebody else is currently looking at it and the seller can't get rid of him. so he's going to ring me back either way shortly. hopefully within the next five minutes or so. it will take us close to an hour to get there. i am off thursday and friday so failing that me and my best mate are going to go and put a deposit down on something and we'll part exchange ours at another time. it would be lovely if that little change of luck started now and this other chap doesn't buy the car we want!! to be fair i want a red one (but i can't get in touch with any of those sellers. he wants a ford focus zetec) and of course i won't be driving it in the foreseeable future not ever having taken a driving test... ha. so he wins out on that one i suppose. i hail thomas's folks completely. they've really saved us on this one. and my mum. what you and taz were saying about parents is totally true gem. just wish it wasn't all happening to us. at once!!

That's awful about the car Abz - I was going so say things come in 3s but I think you've gone over that with your run of luck lately - you're due some good news! Sending you positive vibes for what they're worth. x

finally but he'd sold it. however i was rather relieved as in looking closely at the pics i could see a ruddy great dent in the bonnet which is why it was so cheap, ha.

so we've rung up about another one. a red one (woohoo :D) but thomas likes the red so that's ok. he's putting a cd player in it for us for no extra charge as it currently doesn't have one. and taking our old car off us for scrap value. but to be honest that's easier for us so we don't have to get rid of it. 2001 ford focus zetec, looks rather immaculate online and the chap said it was too. hopefully he wasn't lying but we'll see when we get there. so now i just have to get 2k out of the bank tomorrow!! otherwise it will be a deposit and going back again the next day. it's an ice rink between my work and town at the moment so that won't be fun... and i hate carrying dosh around!! oh. and it has a full year's MOT so don't have to worry about that for a while either. so hopefully he won't sell it from under my feet during the day tomorrow as i want it!!

keep everything crossed. if it sells before i get there around 7pm (and apparently it's been there a while so it would be sod's law) i will be so angry!! we will find one in time with the money behind us but i want that one!! hopefully there won't be any unforeseen problems with it...

right chaps. i'm off to bed. here's hoping that tomorrow is a better day. after all that i only managed to cast on about 10 stitches and i was expecting to have half a 3-year-old's jumper done by now :D

mind you. this one has a hood. never done a hood before. and ooh. i have painkillers. i might sleep tonight :D
