Advice on a Food Diary

After falling off the wagon wayyyyy before summer and now being very unhappy with myself, I really am determined to stick to the plan this time! was just looking some advice on your food diaries as it seems to help you stick to the plan, just a few questions:

1- Do you update your plan online before eating it? or after?
2- How do you keep track of the food you have eaten during the day? is it a mental note? or do you write a plan and stick to that?
3- Do you think it helps with sticking to the plan?
4- Any hints or tips?
5- Do some of you update using your mobiles ie if you are on the go during the day, long shifts etc which i tend to work

Your plans are always so good to read and really good to get ideas from! Keep them up!
