Hi all,

Started exante 5 days ago and went for the mixed bumper pack, gotta say I prefer the bars and shakes though so next month will probably just go for those.

Just wondered if any of you could share good ways of distracting my mind from thinking of food as i have to say im finding this diet very tough.

When do the hunger pangs stop? will I be in ketosis already?

Any advice you guys can give will be appreciated

Look forward to sharing tips etc

Matt

Hi Matt day 5 you should be in ketosis, keep drinking water it helps.

I agree with you on the packs, I deff won't be getting the soups next time. I don't know what distraction you have. I keep out of the kitchen, take the dog for a walk, do some knitting!! (maybe not for you lol) read loads of threads on here. There are great weight-losses to keep you focused but maybe a little too much food talk in some for the first week :D

Hi and welcome. I am on day 7. I have my 1st weigh in tomorrow. I drinks lots of water and have 6 kids to keep me busy..lol
Good luck :)

Thanks Ali, Think ill have to get a dog! now that'll keep me busy ;).

Im tempted to just have bars and shakes and just lose the soups but would seem an awful waste of £33.00 so think ill just have to down em in one!

Congratulations on your weight loss so far, I think this forum will probably become a good distraction to keep me outta the kitchen :D.

Thank you :), how on earth do you cope cooking for your children while on this diet, I heated something up for my wife on day 2 and it nearly killed me :O

Hi Matt and welcome - everyone's tastes are different but what taste yuk at the start seems to change as you go on. Certainly the craving for sweetness fades and for some - like me - the soups are fine. I never got on well with the Exante bars but soups and shakes are great. I started in March this year and with some holidays as a distraction I have been going well since then.
The results are quick, amazing and you will feel so good very soon. The first week is very hard for most people but once the hunger goes the magic packets begin the transformation - so hang on in.
Like you I am filled with admiration of those who have to cook for families - I only do it when I have to, I find that challenging for sure.
Distractions? - most people have a life and leisure around socialising , eating and drinking - in my experience it takes about two weeks to change that habit. At first I started going for walks and then gardening or looking at this site whenever I would normally eat or drink. Now I am a serious shopper for new clothes in size 12 - a expensive distraction but not for life.

I hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks GSQ,

I had the veggie soup tonight and for once i really enjoyed it (A little salt and black pepper lifted the blandness). Think ill have to give it another week before i decide what packs I really like :).

Are you on Total or working solutions?

The only life i knew before this was one of sitting on the sofa drinking red wine and snacking and of course socialising out and about, I think i should get into the garden before winter sets in! will certainly score me some browning points ;).

I guess the shopping side of things will be exciting once i start seeing some serious results, cant wait to fit into an L rather than an XXL tho.

many congrats on your loss so far and i hope you achieve your target :).

hi matt just wanted to say it does work and good luck, i lost a couple of lbs with WW but been doing exante for the rest of my weight loss journey and in total lost 3 stone, i have never tried the soups as im not really a soup lover but now the weathers changing i might just change my mind..lol as for cooking for others in the beginning i used to cook their meals and literally run into the living room to get out of the way lol but it does get better, today i cooked a roast and then sat at the table with my milkshake having a chat with them and it didnt bother me at all. anyway im waffling but keep at it, stay focused and once you are in ketosis itll be a doddle, good luck xxxx

Hi Matt. Total solution with add a meal when work dictates but otherwise three magic packets a day

It helps to find something go do which does not include food and wine. If you can combine it with 20 mins exercise o much the better. I now swim five times a week - I am almost fanatical.

There are lots of things you can add to soups, there is a sticky somewhere on this. I add garlic granules to most flavours, fresh herbs, a bit of salt, Tabasco .... The world is full of exciting possibilities!!!!

I guess it gets easier as you get used to it then, I simply couldnt comprehend sitting at the table and watching my wife eat a roast dinner, I have to leave the room and play on computer for a bit when she eats right now lol!

Yeah i have to say my soup tasted quite nice tonight with a little salt and black pepper :).

Im trying to mix the shakes a little as well by making them into thick shakes by using ice cubes in the blender (Works surprisingly well for the chocolate!).

I think now im looking for reasons not to socialise and eat its probably a good time to take up a hobbie like swimming!

Matt

i really hated the vanilla shakes but now i add a little mixed spice to the blender and now i love them, its just trial and error in the beginning hun but you will get there x
