Any vegans out there?

    Hiya
    Just wondering if there are any vegans on the forum? Im new to dieting and veganism and would appreciate some tips for sweet things, not overly keen on vegan chocolate and i would love to know what you like (prefferably low-cal!) I dont like substitute foods (never liked yoghurts/ice cream/pastries) but i would looooove to know if there was something for my sweet tooth! im getting fed up of fruit and veg!

    I was Vegan up until recently but now veggie. Just found it sooooo hard. Will try and give it a go again. I dont have cows milk or cheese and only drink soya milk. I do have eggs also.

    I am trying to think of sweet things I had. The trouble is with vegan sweets is they are quite high in calories. Its really hard to find something low fat or low cal. That was my finding anyway.

    I would try the vegan sociey shop online or goodness direct or veganstore.com

    i was vegan up until recently for about 3 years due to health (i still cant drink milk or eat pork, beef or lamb).

    i found some of the chocolate substitutes were disgusting anyway, it was like eating nothing basically.

    i found a good website to use for inspiration was called www.veganfitness.com. they were a great bunch of people with great ideas of what to eat if you new to being vegan.

    it might also be a good idea to buy a vegan cookbook. i made a chocolate cake once from a receipe and it was THE MOST delicious thing i had ever tasted even though that were no eggs etc in it...just a suggestion.

    i did find however that i put on weight because a lot of vegan food (if prepacked contains a lot of fat) which i think you mentioned so make sure you use plenty of fruit, veg, nuts etc and please dont forget to include enough protein or vit B12 (through marmite if you like it)
