Hey all, Pebs, thanks for missing me - makes me feel all shiny inside!! It's been a mental week - since this night last week really, with my hangover afterwards!!
As part of my teaching qualification I need one more visit from an inspector to ok me. I've been waiting 4 years to be in a suitable position (has to be in a classroom, support roles no good!) and finally this year I've gotten lucky with some maternity leaves. So before Christmas I had 6th class (12 year olds) and got my first visit done. Now I have senior infants (6 years old) but I finish up at Easter so he has to come before that. It means a lot of extra work, I'm at it till 10 most nights. But once he visits and is happy I go on a panel for a permanent job in the summer which would be amazing!! It's bloody exhausting though!!
To add to my woes, Joe has croup so I've been up with him the last few nights and I've got a head cold myself. So I'm tired, miserable and cranky!! It's all about to change though, because I'm about to have an hour's sleep (my mother has the kids), then I'm going to plan my week's meals and do an aldi run and when I get home I'm going to try and finish my school work so that when I've the kids to bed I can get some telly time - I'm knitting some blankets for the local neo unit but haven't had time to get near it recently.
Martin is off tomorrow so we'll have some family time!! God, I know that was awful moany but I feel better now!!!!
Smurfy we always miss you, and I know how busy you are. When my two were that age I was juggling all the time and I had 2 part time jobs and was run ragged. But you know what, it pays off and now , yes I am still busy and rushing, but they're 16 and 11 now so they can wash, dress, cook, and get themselves to school ( well Ben does) I'm still doing loads for them, the house is still untidy, there's always deadlines and calendars are full, but its so much easier now.
This morning Ben was up and out the door by 8am !! ( more difficult on a school day for some reason,, hhmmmm) he then got the train with his skateboard and is somewhere up in London skating about the parks. Scary but you gotta let em do it. He has his phone, his debit card so he's just fine. Little Lauren is sitting here decorating her school books and revising for her SATS ( year 6) the two boys are watching cars on tv with their dad and I'm planning my meals ( well supposed to be but I can't help sliding in here for a chat. )
That's nice that mums got the bubbas, make sure you get a good rest . Apparently ALDI has some great offers on. They have frylight half price and they have their version of frylight called EVOO?? Well that's over here , not sure if they have the same offers across the water.
That sounds fab about your assessments, fingers crossed for you smurf that its all sorted for Easter so you can sit back and relax over the holiday. Enjoy your telly and family time you deserve it after a week like that and poor joe! Croup is horrid it sounds so bad but he'll be much better soon it just takes time and rest bless him. I'm sure you've got it all covered with steam treatment and stuff but I'm here if you need any advice etc.
