Are slow losses normal on Slimming World

Don't worry about being a slow loser gun cos I can assure you your not lol!
Over in the slow losers group we average about 1/2lb a week and that's sticking rigid to plan. It also sometimes depends on how much you have to lose as well but that's a good consistent loss. :) don't get disheartened this way it will stay off as your changing your life habits x
 
agree with the feedback, I have averaged about 1lb per week, but have lost loads of inches, new cloths are now required and people have commented on the new look, nothing drastic so I dont look drawn and ill, just healthy
 
Yes, weight loss on SW is slower compared to other diets, but think of the positives:

1. It allows you to eat anything you want, in moderation
2. It's a healthy eating plan that you can follow for life
3. By saying that you that you can eat something until you're satisfied, it teaches you to listen to your body, and learn when it is hungry/full.
4. You get to eat cheese :D
5. It takes longer, so you get more time to save up for new clothes :D
 
I agree with Jaels post regarding were you on a different diet before you started with sw? I was attempting to lose weight myself before starting sw and was doing exercise etc already, so only lost 1.5lbs in my first week compared with other peoples losses of anywhere up to 6-7lbs. Also my losses since have been slow and steady, but already I'm at half a stone and loving the fact it doesnt really feel like a diet at all and I've never felt hungry once!
Its hard to hear when you first start as we all want everything now... but 1-2lbs is ideal per week so if you're losing that you should be chuffed with yourself! :)

Seriously though, nutritionists say that diets that routinely cause over 2lbs per week losses, at least half that weight will be muscle mass. Meaning that if you put on weight again after losses, you'll gain back fat in place of the muscle and look in worse shape than when you started out! I had that happen to me. I'm same weight I was now before I did a crash diet, but I definitely look podgier. Slimming world all the way for me baby!

That's a really good point I started slimming world fresh from calorie counting!
 
I was very slow losing, but the tortoise always gets there in the end x

The tortoise gets in the end, sound and safe...always!:)

My consultant told me that if you food optimise 100% then you can consistently loose 4lb a week. Sounds crazy to me!
 
Oh yeah....... Well maybe if you start at 100 stone lol

My thoughts exactly! I am loosing 3.5lbs per week on average & I think a large part of that is due to exercise. 4lbs a week every week would be great. Makes me wonder if she thinks we all cheat then!
 
3.5 a week that's amazing!!! I have been stuck at the same weight for months so I would love that! It will stay off if you loose it nice and steady

That's a great loss..... I'm lucky if I do that a month....
but, we're all in for the longterm benefits, however long it takes

Mind.... I am a lazy moo, and apart from a bit of walking, I don't do anything else.... need to get my bum off of the sofa! - well done for all that effort
 
I once lost a stone in my first week at Rosemary Conley BUT....I was STARVING!!!! 1200 calories a day for the first two weeks....no thanks!!! Ive done SW twice before and love it. The only think I struggle with is what to have for snacks at work because I'm ALWAYS hungry when I'm at my desk but have just found a recipe on another members thread for free hummous which will be my saviour!!!

Keep up the good work - no matter what the loss it's a loss all the same and a step in the right direction!!
