Breastfeeding and Slimming World

yay to TJ hello to any new people......this hex business has got a bit complicated lol ....the list that geo posted is correct! i suppose if ur not getting calcium in other foods then have more A choices. im having 3 of each a day and loosing as well as 15 syns a day......if i stop loosing then i will look at what im having, just be careful to weigh out any hex!

I just want to make a quick suggestion for a brill product called cuddledry aprons, I found out about them on Dragons den. Anyhoo's basically if your like me and have co-ordination problems it is brillent as when giving your LO a bath you place thw towelled apron that has buttons on around you and then you just put your LO on to it close to your chest and place the hooded bit of the towel on the head. I think it is ace as you don't have to mess about with changing around the towels etc etc. It's retail price is £29.99 which is steep but I brought one for £10 of Ebay and is one of the best things I have brought for my Charles :)

Also a free personalised mug, perfect for looking at your gawjus baby whilst drinking a brew ;) http://promo.truprint.co.uk/mumsmug/mumsmug1/

Hi ladies, how early did you start producing anything? I'm only 14 + 4 and I think I'm making colostrum already.

I was having some boob pain so I gave them a bit of a massage and a sticky clear liquid came out.

Apologies if this is tmi!

Hi Hun, I was about the same as you I think.

Just watch out when you sleep, I remember waking up after sleeping with my arm squishing my boob wondering why the bed was soaking!
Obviously post-baby you're a bit more prepared for that!

Good old I'm not the only one! Most stuff I've read says nothing happens until after 30 weeks!

Lol I will be careful of that, thank you!

Miss Slinky - I had soaked tee's when I was pregnant and had to wear breast pads at 14 wks when going out incase of having a nasty leakage. But I have to say not as much fun as when my waters broke, literally like the films though I had it drilled in to me that it was so uncommon and more sutal, yeah right!!!

Have an aww moment when looking at what i just brought for my son as he is growing into 6-9months clothing mr Tickle babygrow - as he adores being tickled and laughs like a madhead :)

heehee love it!!

oh i cant remember when i started to leak, it was only a bit though and mainly when i squeezed pmsl!

well for first time met another bf'ing mum out and about though she wasn't feeding......was impressed by my bf'ing butterfly. tbh dont bother buying one they're not brill, i got mine off ebay.
aww my ikkle babs had his 2nd jabs yesterday, so far hes been ok

****Anyone giving their babies formula at night and bf'ing in the day???......contemplating it for when im back at work on shifts, any advice would be appreciated thanks****

I leaked small amounts from end of second tri and did with my first too.

As for formula jojo a friend of mine gives her daughter formula for last feed and the night feed so hubby can help as they have 3 kids so she wanted him to start helping. Thats only since she been bout 9 weeks and works well for her. You can either wake when bubs wakes and pump milk off to keep your suply there for if u wanna feed when you are home or leave it so that yohr body doesnt make that feed anymore.

Im pleased to say boobyfeeding is going well yeeyyyy feel like super mom :) ive got this far considering all the complications!! And i intend to continue!

Time is goin by too fast tho :(

aww thanks for the advice Leeanne and well done for not giving up!! now ive thought about it i dont want to drop any feeds if i can help it lol so im just going to play it by ear. he seems to be sleeping for 5/6 hrs having a quick feed then going back to sleep for 2/3 hrs. theres no guarantee that he would sleep through with formula. spoke to my boss today about expressing at work i will be the first to do it so they have no idea whats involved! going to research it thoroughly regarding my rights and also how many times in a 9 hr shift ill need to express! gotta also sort out my shift pattern so its opposite my hubs so we dont have to have child care, bit anxious about it really cos if it doesnt go our way we are really going to struggle to find childcare suitable for shifts.....grr wish i could stay home lol

We're in exactly the same position with shifts and childcare. I'm on a phased gradual return for this month and it's hard enough now. I'm dreading being back full-time.
My lil one was a terrible sleeper. I tried formula for a few nights which made no difference. When he was 7 1/2 months I did sleep training/ controlled crying which worked for us but I know it's not for everyone. My lil one went for waking every hour for a feed to sleeping from 8-6 in about 3-4 days.

hi geobar....are you still breastfeeding? its really hard to know how ur child will sleep while they are still young, Dan will be 5 mth when i go back to work. He may well be ready for weaning which is bound to change any sleep pattern and then theres teething problems too......aggghhhh help! lol
im hoping to go back 4 out of 6 shifts for a month by taking hols
aww took my baba out in a sling today, got it from a sling library £5 for a mth. great for trying them out, dont know if there are libraries all over though. Got stared at a lot lol!!!

Yeah I'm still feeding. My ill one has just turned 10 months. He doesn't feed much in the day and that's only if I'm around. I did the baby led weaning when he was six months, it gets easier when they move to solids.
That's good about a sling library, I've never heard of that. I was thinking of buying a sling if I have a second any time soon. How did you find the sling?
I hope it all works out for you
