    Hello all,

I'm 12 weeks pregnant today and my due date is 31st August. I'm really happy and can't wait. I have been fairly relaxed with food for these first few months because I haven't been feeling my best. My priority has been to eat healthy and not worry too much about the gain. I have eaten fairly healthy but I have also been snacking on junk when ether I feel sick. So now I'm at 12 weeks I feel like I want to control my weight gain a little bit.

I weigh 186.5lbs this morning which is a 7lb gain since becoming pregnant. So I would like to lose that. Although my weight is high I'm not actually classed as obese as I am tall.

If I was going to set a target I would like to lose the 7lbs in week 12-16. Then in week 16-40 I want to try and gain no more than 20lbs throughout my whole pregnancy.

So here I am at Slimming World Online. I have everything I need to start, so I will update tonight with my first food diary :)

P.S - this is my first and I'm petrified lol

    Day 1

I felt really sick when I woke up this morning so the hubby went downstairs and got my some water and a crumpet (5syns) and philly (a). I felt much better but didn't get out of bed for 2 hours. By then it was 8am. I keep getting up at 6am desperate for a's so annoying.

    Porridge (b) milk (a) banana
    WW raspberry layered yogurt (0.5s)

Baked Potato + Heinz mini meal pizza flavour tortellini (0.5s)
    Lettuce, cucumber, celery

    Vegetable moussaka (6s)
    Cauliflower and Broccoli and carrots

    1 x Toast (b)+ Philly (rest of a)

    Syns = 12

The moussaka was amazing and if I hadn't have had the toast/crumpet I could have used a healthy A allowance and it would have been free. I feel like the snacks such as crumpet/toast are not something I would normally eat but they stop me feeling like I am going to throw up. So for the time being I am almost saving up syns to allow for it.

Been thinking about my scan this morning, it's days away and I am a bit nervous. I am desperate to know if everything is going well.

    Day 2

    Porridge & Milk (a+b)
    Apple & Grapes

Pasta, ham, carrots, celery, pesto (2s)

2 x Minted Lamb Burgers (11), broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. lettuce, cucumber,

Orange, apple, mixed berries, cheese & ryvita (a+b) yogurt (0.5)

Sick Sick Sick - I don't like to complain as I sit opposite a girl who can't have children. I feel too lucky to moan. But I spent the whole day feeling like rubbish. Now I'm home I'm fine :) super excited about scan. Can't wait to start telling people too.

Omg! Is it normal to just cry for no reason. I'm not an emotional person tbh, I don't cry at films and I never really cry. Just had a right good sob! Feel better though!

I don't have time to update my food plan for today and yesterday but a quick update on how I'm feeling.

My scan is tomorrow and I feel really nervous and emotional about it. Half of me is excited, happy, I've been wanting this for 9 weeks and it's finally here. The other part of me I scared. Incase there is nothing there and I imagined it or complications, or something is wrong.

I just want everything to go well!

    Hi subscribed.

Congratulations and try not to worry too much, the fact that your feeling sick is a good sign! I'm sure everything will be fine. I can't wait for a 12w scan so we are booking a private one for 8weeks at the end of next week. 3 weeks to go!
We have only known for 10days and it already feels like forever! Apparently the first trimester drags but the rest flies by! I hope it doesn't take too long!

Good luck for tomorrow, maybe you could post the picture for us :)

Good luck for tomorrow, it will be so exciting for you to see :) let us know how it goes

I hope the sickness passes for you soon. I know what you mean about feeling fortunate to be pregnant but it still doesn't make the sickness or tiredness easy to cope with. Well done on even trying to not gain too much weight whilst coping with that.

Ps it is completely normal to be emotional like that, hormones have a lot to answer for!

I felt fine all of yesterday but struggled to sleep last night, so did the hubby. I NEVER struggle to sleep. Dunno it's is excitement, nervous, anxious, scared or a mixture of all. I'll post my scan photo later :)

Wow! That scan was the most incredible and amazing experience of my whole life. Jiggling and wiggling around.

So I went in and waited 40mins and needed a wee so bad. Then I went in and he found baby right away and confirmed there was only one. Phew! I could see the little heart beating away!!! 2 legs, 2 arms. Sleeping. He asked me to cough to wake the baby up and Omg wow, it just started moving and I had a huge smile. So to test for Down syndrome they need the neck measurement, the baby moved so much he couldn't get the angle. He went all of the place but baby just move with him. It was kicking and jumping. At one point was on its front crawling position. Everytime he found the measurement and hit the freeze button baby had moved. So after my extra log scan I was told to see my midwife for the check and they would scan me again. Midwife went through my bloodwork. My Iron level was higher than average and she was saying how brilliant everything one. Then 2nd scan was pretty much a repeat of first. Although not as clear as I had had a wee by then. So I never got the down syndrome test.

So at my 16 week appointment I will have a bloodtest. This test is 7-10% less accurate than with the scan included. But still very accurate.

Anyway I am soo happy and I cried tonight.

    My little alien

Face is away, so that's he back of the head (I told you it wasn't playing along) we couldn't even get a photo on its side. So anyway kinda looks like a any/dog on it's back here lol

Also my date is 2 days earlia. So I'm officially 13 weeks today :)

Photos are from 2nd scan that's why they are not very clear and also I kind of feel happy we got 2 scans and extra long ones. I could have watched all day.

It needs new date is 29th August.
We are unsure regarding gender, if today's appointment is anything to go by baby won't keep still long enough lol!

We are tempted to find out, but also think a surprise would be nice. Did you find out?

We did find out. My dh didn't want to initially but he changed his mind after persuasion from an emotional, pregnant woman ;)

i am so glad we found out and would find out again in the future if we have another one. It was really special as by 20 weeks you feel like you have been pregnant for ages but still have so long to go and it really renewed my excitement. For me the birth and particular seeing her little face and hearing her cry for the first time was amazing, the best moment of my life. I am not sure it would have been more amazing if gender had been surprise. Also, they fit into little baby clothes for so little time that I am glad we didn't have a load of gender neutral stuff as anyway most of my friends who didn't know in advance went out and bought boys and girls clothes
not long after the birth. Personal choice though! :)
