carbs that sugar

have tried to find the answer, but i cant seem to find the info,

but when i am looking at carbs content, and then it says that sugars ie 9.7g of which sugars 6.3g, what does this mean, what should i be counting, as at moment been counting the 9.7g bit

cheers

The total carbs is the big figure, the smaller sugar figure is the amount of sugar in the item, which can come from natural forms or added sugar as far as I'm aware!?

Fibre is separate from the carbs section

If I'm counting carbs I'm looking at the total value, I'm also looking at how much sugar is in each item then making the decision if I eat it or not.. I also weigh up how often sugar or forms of sugar are mentioned, if in 1st five it's bound to have a high carb/sugar ratio

Hope that helps?
