'Chasing Butterflies' - Team 7

We did WIN!!!! :talk017:Wahay, aren't we just absolutely brilliant! Well..... you need to blow your own trumpet, no one else will! What a fantastic comeback after so many weeks of not being able to join in the challenge. Thanks everyone, you're a lovely team...its nice to be so 'active' again. Heres aiming for another good week then, can we do two in a row???!!

Had a good day, drinking loads. Only thing is, i have really taken to black coffee, and probably had more of this than water..... does it make a difference where the fluid comes from? I do mostly have decaff.

Good luck with the weaning Melanie, my little darling was a demon baby and just did not take to food at all no matter what i tried, still a fussy madam now. One thing i did do though which was fun and introduces texture early on was take elements of 'baby led weaning', i also ended up doing some puree stuff but i have never had a problem with 'lumps' so i think this did help a little. The principle is that once they are ready to eat and have developed the pincer grasp (around 6-7mths) they are physiologically ready to also chew and eat soft foods without pureeing and the fact that they 'control' it reduces risks of choking. My daughters first ever food was a very ripe plum which she munched on ( and wiped over her face) quite happily. You can use soft fruits, soft cooked veg etc. Theres heap loads of stuff on the internet about it, with lots of finger food recipes, which i have found useful even now to give her healthy snacks/meals. God, i'm waffling now, sorry.... i just had so much fun watching her try to eat..it did make it a bit more fun for all of us! It can be such a difficult time, i remember being mortified and worrying sick about how little she ate- i look back at photos and she was a little 'buddha' at the time!

In work tomorrow at 8, so off to bed. Take care all xx

Nicki, you are really causing me to crave for turkey! I cannot wait to move up now, just so i can cook one! Hope work is ok!

Also, Irene has asked if we can change our team number to 7, as they are whittling down the teams to get rid of non-active ones. Said this was fine- isn't number 7 supposed to be lucky?! xx

Hi all,
I hear I have been booted out!

I honestly don't take offence though:p

I been the hospital for the last 2 weeks with a broken shoulder.......basically I was helping my uncle with his shed, I climbed on the roof (it's a 8ft tall shed) and I fell through! Breaking my shoulder and now I have some nice pins in my shoulder!

I'm sorry I have let you lot down but it was NOT intentional:(

It just seems alot has gone on in the past few months for me!

On the brighter side I have lost 15lbs in 2 weeks! ( havent updated ticker yet as computer want let me  )

I really just want to stress that I feel so guilty that you feel that I didn't bother to post, it had genuine reasons :break_diet:

Hope u guys are doing well xx

It took me ages to type this with one hand! LOL:flirt2:

Oh my God Claire, you poor thing! If you want to continue to be in the challenge thats fine hun, i just know you'd had such a lot on and didn't want you to feel like you had to continue with it, if you were struggling. Its perfectly ok to be in the team but just not in the challenge, as i said, you could always slot back in when you were up to it and a space came up. You are not 'booted out' hun, which is why i said i'd wait for a while to see what you wanted to do..... So, am i getting it right that you are still in....!!!!! If so, i am chuffed. And.......15lb:D:D:D, thats amazing!! You must be thrilled.

I would not think that you just couldn't be bothered to post, knew you had such a lot on, so please don't think that it is thought that you 'let anyone down'. I am glad to hear from you, and would love for you to stay with us, we'd just had such a slow period that we needed to re-evaluate how the teams/challenges work and do some recruiting.

Hope you're feeling better soon.... eeek..will it be ok in time for hols? xx

hey all, i have some bad news!!!

i have to unfortunatly stop CD this month, i have had a cut of hours at work and i can no longer afford the diet :( i am absolutly gutted :(

but on the brighter side Claire can re join the team!!!

i will pop by ever so often and keep you up to date with my weight loss

sorry guys

K x

Sorry to hear you've had to have a break Katy. Hope you manage ok on sensible eating, which plan will you follow? It'll be nice to hear how you get on. All the best xx

Hello everyone !! how ru you all doing, phew my baby has just screamed himself to sleep and I can now hear myself think again haa! xxx Hello Claire, now I feel bad like I have taken a place, sorry to hear your leaving us Katy, but hopefully see you back on here soon, yes the weaning is fun, i love just seeing his reaction the food I make, i have made a couple of purees which he has enjoyed and frozen them but just need to try out new recipies, its quite good really!! x cant wait until he is feeding himself and holding his own bottle alhtough it will be sad as he will be growing up, he is 6months old today where does the time go :( ...weigh in tomorrow eeek am scared as I havent been 100% this week, but still hoping for some kind of loss ! xx Hope everyones had a nice Monday xx

Hi all,
Had great Monday. Good day at work- 100% ss and feeling good! No one has taken Claires place so don't fret. We now only have 5 anyway, including Claire:D (if you still want to?), but minus Katy(hopefully only short term):( as i have to presume that Jess is no longer interested as she has never posted. Members now:

butterfly (Lorna)
Corinne
devilishand sweet (Claire)
Nicki
Melanie

So will need to advertise again anyway. Will do that tomorrow.

Scales appear to be stuck again, its my payback for the naughty nibbles, not going to get too bothered, just plod on- freezing to death and peeing for england! It'll come off soon enough.

Do intend to stick to it completely now. I have a new goal in mind.
I want to hit 10 stone goal by 22nd November and be eating reasonably 'normal' by then if its possible. Its my cousins baby's Christening and me and OH are godparents. So i want to get a lovely frock and be able to eat at the 'do' after to celebrate. Got a feeling this may be asking too much as i have to move up plans when i get to 10st6lb so loss may slow even more but going to give it my best shot!

Enjoy your adult time Melanie, how precious is that! I still love it now. We read a ladybird 'Red Riding Hood' book pre bed tonight, I hadn't read it before and it was actually quite scary! DD(3yrs) not impressed, kept pulling faces, then at the end just looked at me and said 'well, thats just stupid mommy!'.Freaky how they just turn into little adults in no time!

Hope everyone is doing well, good luck on WI!! xx

Hi Guys!

Melanie.....don't feel gulity! I was only joking about being booted......! I completly understood why as my posting has been very inconsistent lately!

My shoulder won't be back to normal by holiday, so I'm looking at my options whether I should or can go or not!?

What a s**t to have to consider missing your holiday Claire. Have you checked with GP if you could? Mind you, it depends how much it affects you, i'd imagine it still feels pretty grim after only 2 weeks- wouldn't really want to need to have any problems whilst away. Could you get your money back now?

Also, do you want me to split your loss and put you in the challenge for the next two weeks? If so, i need to know your weight before you lost the 15lb.

Hope everyone ok this morning. I remain enthused for my challenge! Speak soon xx

Hi fellow butterfly chasers,
Just thought I'd pop on and say hello...I am still being good...still having my fresh turkey with my vegs in my soup of a night...which I am really enjoying. Great news that we were this weeks challenge winners.

Claire sorry to hear that you have been poorly and how painful must that be....you are not having much luck with your health are you? I don't think you were ever booted off of the team as far as I can see....I don't know what gave you that impression..sorry if you felt that you had been.
Special K, sorry you are unable to continue....is CD not cheaper than food for you anyway?...I know if I didn't have a family to feed and it was only me that it would cost me less to stay on CD than to shop for one person.

Glad everyone else is still on board....I presume Corinne is still on board and I know Melanie x posted yesterday...I seem to be losing track of all these new members who keep coming and going...Have we advertised for any new members yet?

Hope all you butterfly chasers are being good, speak soon,

Nicki! I only ever made a joke by being 'booted' off........it seems to have been taken out of context....SORRY! xx

My weight before was 22st 8lb now 21st 7lb xxx

Have a good day all!

Hi Claire, nice to see you back.....are you doing CD at the moment or just cutting down? I know you have a lot of health problems going on at the moment..but well done on your weight loss so far.
Hope you stay focussed and get back on the CD wagon soon, speak soon

Hello! Just a flying visit - I know I've not been on for a few days but I spent all weekend madly writing a 3500 word essay and have just done 2 14.5 hour shifts in a row :(

I'm pleased to report I have stuck to CD 100% - despite having a shift from hell today and the box of M&S extremely chocolately biscuits calling my name - I have my first weigh in tomorrow morning so will report back then!

Right - off to bed! Luckily my alarm is not going off at 5.00 like it has the past 2 days!!!

Hi all,

Glad to hear you're all being good!

Hate to say but i nibbled tonight. Have no excuse, just was feeling a bit crap. Got lots going on at the moment in life anyway, bit stressed, worried about stuff and then the scales weren't budging despite being 100% so i had a comfort nibble. It did make me feel better for a second, then realised i was just being stupid. Hey ho, pick up, carry on, tomorrow is another day....!

Good luck for the WI Corinne, sure it'll be great! Fair play for resisting temptation. You sound like you're well 'in the zone'!!

Will nip over and advertise our space now. xx

Hello Fellow Butterflies, how are we all doing ?? xx well I had a rubbishy weigh in today, only lost 1.2lbs ....argh! there were times today I thought about coming off and just eating sensibly but i think its just the dissapointment of weigh in and I am starting to feel slightly better now! does anyone just get really tough tough days ? x

Lorna that book sounds awful, your poor little girl, but yes i know what you mean they are like small adults when they come out with stuff like that.

Hope we find a new member soon I am sure we will as we are a fab bunch if I do say so myself hehe x just watched my weekly dose of 'don't tell the bride' on bbc three anyone else watch it, it's brilliant !! anyhow better go otherwise I would of written an essay before I know it xx luv you all x

Melanie, 1.2 lb is still a loss in the right direction...don't beat yourself up.....just concentrate on having a good week this week. CD is definitely not for the faint hearted and needs discipline to see you through to the end and of course this is tough....we all have tough days believe me...it can be stressful, socialising is very difficult on this diet....I just don't do it...I am refusing to socialise properly until I reach goal.....CD can make you quite antisocial...not being able to eat or drink a normal meal or drink a glass of wine or two is hard...having to explain to everyone around you at social events why you are not drinking or eating....no thats not me...I am just gonna get together with all my friends and family once the weight is gone and have one big celebration!!!

Butterfly, sorry you are feeling a bit down and stressed at the moment....just pick yourself up...brush yourself off and start all over again...we all know you are strong and can do it....stop with the nibbling girl...you are doing so well....and yes tomorrow is another day!!! Speak soon,

Hey Butterflies,

Thanks for the invite, is there room for a shrinking one? Just WI, lost 5lbs this week so chuffed.
Have got a lot to loose, and not looking at the bigger picture, have a target of Jan 15th when I go to centre parcs. Aim to 100% till then.

x

I understand completely how you must feel Melanie, as i have a feeling i may have a sts or gain this week (although i haven't quite been 100%). Its easy to look at times when you're not losing and get despondant and question if its worth it. My rationale for continuing cd at times like this is:......yes, i could lose 2+lb per week doing sw, or other 'healthy eating' plan..but would I? Chances are pretty slim, the time it takes to get major losses and the effort to do so is just too much, thats why its never worked 'long term' in the past, i get fed up and give in before i get to goal. (not to mention the hours you have to focus on your meal planning/cooking) Now thats not to say we don't feel the same on cd, but you know with certainty that if you follow the diet- you will lose, and lose far quicker than any other plans out there. There have been weeks i've been great, only to hardly lose, but when my cdc measures me, i have lost inches. It evens up the next week.
Thanks for the support and the boot up the bum, Nicki:D. I appreciate having all you lot here to share/chat with. makes it easier to know you're not alone, and others understand what it feels like to be facing this. We do have a great team! :gen126:

Advertised last night, theres someone looking for a space who's just returning, Think you know her from before Corinne? So hopefully she'll join us, and we'll be back up to 6.

I've seen a few of those 'bride' series, always make me giggle! I'd even consider doing it, just can't decide what we want to do for our wedding, so i'll let someone else do it, no hassle!

WI this morning.....eek...! TMI, but my stomach is aching, and it been days since i 'went' so got a feeling that isn't helping!

Report back later xx
