'Chasing Butterflies' - Team 7

Evening all!

Nicki - I do hope that you feel better soon.

I've had a pretty pants day today - am sooooo tired and really struggled at work today - my typing was shocking and as for being able to string a sentence together.....! Oh well - back to the office in Hampshire tomorrow, in time for a sesh with the physio-terrorist - woohoo, so will be mainly out of office and won't have to be coherent! Must remember to take the tissues with me - somehow the physio always make my eyes water!! Has anyone else had total lack of concentration etc on CD?

Can't believe what a scale-hopper I've become! Every time I go in my bathroom I have to jump on! Amused by the daily 2lb gain during the day and the 3lb loss overnight! Could really do with my WI being at 0800 and not 1230! At least it will stop tomorrow when I get back to the Mess (no scales there) so the WI will be a complete surprise (hopefully good, despite eating now and again in order to get anti-inflammatories down me).

Anyway, bed time now for me.

Onwards & downwards!

Pol

Hey All,

It was definitely a MONDAY. Here's hoping that we're better tomorrow -- even pol at the physio-terrorist (love that).

Hi H2LB,

At work -- it's my break and I'm checking emails. It has been a pretty good day so far. Have to meet my daughter at the bookfair afterschool, then run errands, make dinner, take her to an appointment, and go back to work early tomorrow. I think I have Thursday off (for Thanksgiving -- whooha).

MM

Im not back at work till thursday yay me!!
Just wrapped the xmas presents i bought and few others i had...just need to put them under my tree when i put it up!

Haven't had to much water today so need to step that up...need to tidy my hse aswell its never ending!
Hope u have a lovely rest of the day at work

Hi all,
Sounds like your having a busy day MM...reading your post just made me feel exhausted and as for you H2LB..xmas shopping and wrapping them up already..WOW!! I leave all that to the last minute...you sound so organised.
I am still laid up with the squits...been to GP this morning and have been told that it is probably gastric flu...but I have had to do a stool sample to rule out a bacterial infection..as the doc seems to think that it has been going on too long for gastric flu...I will get the results on Thursday/Friday...I have been told to get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids and take diaralyte and lucozade...yuk!! He told me to have dry toast etc. I do feel a bit better today and have only had 5 trips to the loo so far today and the stomach cramps have eased a bit too. I made myself some chicken broth earlier and had a small bowl with a slice of bread...I felt really naughty...but I guess needs must until I can tolerate the shakes again...hoping to be back on them by the weekend at the latest. This is all playing havoc with my diet...although according to my scales I have lost a good 5 lb so far..all fluid I expect...I just hope I can get comfortably back into ketosis as I am sure I must be kicked out of it by now as have had 2 slices of dry toast and 1 slice of bread and 2 cream crackers since yesterday and the soup, I'll check with a ketosick later.
Anyway enough waffling from me...hope you are all being good and angelic...oh I feel so guilty for eating real food..how ridiculous am I?? Speak to you all later I'm off for a nap as I feel knackered and can't seem to stay awake for more than a few hours at a time...it's bloody exhausting this illness lark. Back later for another ramble no doubt!

Owww H2LB...You are naughty....I don't feel half as guilty now I know you caved at the chicken counter. Try not to beat yourself up over it..just jump back on the wagon and start again...as tomorrow is a new day.

Hi H2LB,

It is roast chicken and not that bad -- try a ketostix tomorrow morning and you may still be in ketosis. I have read that it is better to have a bit of what you are craving than to have something else -- and then go ahead and have your desired item anyway. Drink your water -- maybe do a bit of exercise as a trade off -- you'll be fine. Congrats on being organized re: Christmas.

Wow Nicki,
I hope you're better soon. You need to drink lots to avoid dehydrating.

To answer your question -- I have not been totally angelic. (I had tuna for dinner -- protein and low cal, but then I had it with a few crackers -- bad carbs.) I am going to have to make a read effort between now and Saturday to not hurt our team's totals. Thursday is Thanksgiving -- too. Such pressure.

Hey girls!

Stop with the chicken talk - it's torture - I'm starving!! Sesh with the physio went well and back is feeling good today, so took advantage by spending an hour doing some upper & lower body phys (still struggling with core as back isn't very mobile for sit-ups etc) but now I am soooooo hungry! Shame my CDC is so organised that she's only given me enough shakes/soups until I see her tomorrow, otherwise I'd have a fourth meal today, before I find myself jumping in the car to Tesco! Could literally chew my own arm off right now! May have to go for a walk to take my mind off it..... although have drunk sooo much today that am not sure I can go too far away from the loo (am peeing like a horse!! - sorry TMI!) Prob is that is it TOTM and am craving steak....... with lots of spinach......mmmmmm........!

H2LB - I am sooo impressed with your organisation! I bought my god-children's pressies a couple of months ago, but apart from that I've not thought about Christmas. (I am one of those grumpy gits who doesn't like anything to do with Christmas before December!)

Nicki - Poor poor you! I really do hope that you feel better soon. At this moment in time sod the diet and stop feeling guilty; the most important thing is that you get well.

MM - you can carry on talking about tuna all you like - yukky stuff!

Anyway, it's Wed tomorrow, which means an hour with the physio & WI - woohoo! I'm not expecting much as I have eaten five meals in the last week to get the diclofenac down & have some social life, but hopefully have shed 5lbs or so..... Keep your fingers (and toes) crossed!

Right - must go and find some distraction! Dare not even turn TV on in case of food programme or advert!

Enjoy the rest of your evenings.

Hi all,
Know how you feel with the wanting to eat Pol, sometimes it gets so annoying its like torture. Get all twitchy and irritable! Not that i ever feel hungry, i just want to eat for the sake of it! Tiredness doesn't help, so maybe the physio has impacted.....? Not recommending the chewing of arms, yuck.... Good luck for WI, normally have mine on a wed but had to move to thur this week cos of cars going into garage tomorrow. More expense, just in time for xmas.:( Which i am starting to realise is drawing ever closer, and i still have so much to do.

On the topic of food porn, is there anything you particularly crave? In the early weeks mine was cheese on toast, and guaranteed every time i turned on the tv the cathedral city advert was on, it was pure torture!

H2LB, could have been worse hun. Don't let it derail you and turn into a major binge, get back on that wagon tomorrow and put it behind you. We're not going to change the habits of a lifetime overnight, like you say...every day is a fresh start, eventually bits will start to click into place.
MM, are you doing the whole big family meal thing..? That must be hard. I'm sort of dreading xmas in this sense, it is always full of lovely food. Will need iron will to hold back from all the goodies.
Hope you all have good day tomorrow. xx

Right then Ladies!

Just back from my CDC. 6lbs & 7" down! Not bad 'eh, considering I've still been doing some eating....

But Christmas party season starts on Friday......

Hope you're all having a good day.

Hi Ladies,

Speaking of Food Porn... got up at o'dark thirty to bake cupcakes for a co-worker's birthday. I have loads left-over as I only frosted and decorated the 20ish I needed to fill the container... however, I planned appropriately because with me "if it isn't chocolate, it's not worth the calories to me." The cakes are yellow with buttercream frosting. They are just awful. lol

Butterfly re: Thanksgiving -- my 10 year old daughter wants to go to school (she said, "I have to go to school, I need to learn.") So, DH and I will go up the base club and have a Thanksgiving lunch there. No leftovers for picking over, no nibbling whilst cooking, and they have a wide variety of options, so I will try to stick to low GI and attempt portion control. The dessert table will be a challenge -- as (even though it is not chocolate) I LOVE PUMPKIN PIE! I may have a tiny piece and not eat the crust.

So, Wadpol... I need both arms at the moment, but tomorrow afternoon I am going to get my thick haircut (in attempt to lose some weight) and step my *ss off on the WiiFit in the hope that I will not let all you down on our weekly weigh-in. If I do, I apologise in advance and promise to be very, very good from now until Christmas day, and then thereafter.

Although, I saw the cutest Chirstmas decoration that read, "Be naughty, save Santa the trip."

Wadpol -- May I ask why you are having physio? And congrats on your fab weight loss.

Nicki, I hope you are doing LOTS better today.

Can Shanny join? If we already have six, maybe we can have her as alternate and only report the top six Butterflies Biggest Losers (aka BBLs). That might be cheating but as only one other team reported last week... I wonder if it would be an issue.

Thank you! Not sure how to celebrate..... May treat myself to a peanut bar or choc orange shake whilst watching Spooks later - weyhey!

Am actually seeing the physio for 2 things - lower back and a dodgy shoulder (riding accident 7 years ago) - all very dull.

Not sure about Shanny joining - rules are that we are only allowed 6 per team, but not sure if Claire is coming back - am sure Butterfly will know.

Just have some pumpkin pie and make sure that you enjoy it! It's not Thanksgiving everyday. How long will you need to spend on the Wii Fit afterwards?!

Need to go and do some scale hopping - want to know how much the thick wool skirt that I wore today weighs. Tragic I know!

Hope you all have a lovely evening.
