Ooh, thanks for that link DeWinter - there's a Park Run where I live, I've been getting a little tired of running lately, so perhaps a group set up with opportunities to compare your performance to others might make things more interesting.

Gutted now that I'm busy the next few Saturdays so cant get there for a few weeks
 
No problem mandy296. I am not yet at that stage yet but I think it is a great idea. Just not ready to run with real runners yet

Like lots!!! Will have to hava a think about what I will do afterwards. Was thinking maybe alternating half hour runs with interval training??? Might look it up...

Hi All!

I've been in the middle of postgrad submission dates this week but my final assignment is now gone so I am back on the running bandwagon!

I've decided i need a plan to keep motivated for the second half of the program, so this week i am going to do w4r3 on Tuesday, w5r1 on Friday, w5r2 on Sunday and then w5r3 on Tuesday. (I do WI on Wednesdays, Ice skating on Thursdays and Zumba on Mondays so its easy to let the running slip if i've got other things on!!) I figure if i've written it down and told you all i will make myself go.

Anyhow- so today i finished w4r2 which felt good even against the wind :D

Can I just ask if anyone else is actually finding this difficult? I am! I've only done one session so far (on Thursday night) and my legs are still agony! It's really making me panic about doing the second session (supposedly tonight)... Can I get through this? Does it get better? Will I recover more quickly? Is it just because I was sooo unfit?!

Hi,

My legs killed me after my first two runs, so much in fact that it took me 2 weeks to complete W1 as I needed longer breaks between the runs and because I hurt I didn't have the interest in running.

I've now finished W2 and I start W3 tomorrow. I noticed last night after W2D3 that my legs were tired but not sore and tight.

Keep going and you will get there x
 
Thanks sleepy - was really hoping that I was normal! I think you've given me the motivation to try W1D2 tonight... I'll report back later x

I think we all found it really hard at the beginning (and still do) but does get a little easier eventually! I always look forward to going for my runs now and feel amazing once I've completed one but whilst I'm running I ask myself every step why I put mself through it!!

Give it a really good chance and I'm sure you'll start to enjoy it more!!

I too found it very hard at the start and if you read back through this thread I suffered with a lot of pain with shin splints and knees. Amazingly I like sofartogo am on my last run in the morning to complete the challenge, I have to say though I don't enjoy it just like the achievement and how I feel after!

KEEP GOING, YOU CAN DO IT!!!
 
Yes it was hard in the beginning and after every run I felt amazed that I had done it. Are you doing the nhs training plan?
