Week 6 day 3 completed & I have to say I am sooo chuffed with myself. I struggled a bit around the 18 minute mark but felt ok by 20 minutes & even felt as if I could carry on when the 25 minutes were up!!! Never in a million years thought I would say that!!! :D

Good luck to everyone starting out. The plan is absolutely fab so trust in it & you will get through. If I can do it anyone can!!!


Delighted for you, sweet. If you're anything like me, much as C25k is a challenge, it seems more do-able and enjoyable than 30Day Shred, which is mega tough. There's no stopping you running now! I still find the first ten minutes the worst. I reckon you'll cope brilliantly with the rest of the programme. You've done the hardest bits and deserve a big pat on the back. x
 
I have finally done week one day 3! ( seriously, getting out jogging is a hard task here! Hoping to get one more jog in before my op on wednesday though :)

Really struggled today. My shin splints kept threatening to flare up so had to be really careful as if they do I'm scuppered for a few weeks. Made it to the end though.

Ok so not strictly week 7 day 1 but I'm going to count it as that as I done more than the 25 minutes running :D

After reading about all the RFL's & discovering there werent any coming up near me anytime soon I decided I would love to try a 5k so I mapped out my route & decided to time myself. I have to say that not only did it feel really good finishing the distance but when I looked at my time & realised that it was 29 minutes & 27 secondsI was over the moon. I really pushed myself the last stretch but still didnt expect my time to be anything near that!!! :D

I have done all of my running so far outdoors but I have heard others mention that it is harder running outdoors than on the treadmill. I found the 1st couple of weeks of the programme the toughest so stick with it & it will get easier :)

Thanks. I enjoy a bit of both but I always run a shorter distance and take longer to recover outdoors. That's ok if that's to be expected just didn't want it to be a case of me going backwards. Haha.

I hate running on a treadmill and find it so much harder. I think for me its because on a treadmill you set a pace and it might not be quite right. Outdoors you can speed up and slow down much easier. I also have problems with shin splints and going on the treadmill knackers my shins completely.
 
Today is D day.. When running this programme we set ourself the challenge of doing Fun Run, it's today! Problem is I've only run twice since finishing C25K as my backs kills when I run.. Need to get through today!

Really want to continue running though as was really enjoying it so have to sort my back out somehow.. Not sure how!

Thank you, that is what I needed to hear, I forget how I couldn't even run for a minute when I started it and have come so far, I really don't expect a good time (I think people can walk faster than I can run!) but it will be an achievement to finish it.. I'll let you know how it goes, doesn't start until 6pm and I've never run in the evening!
 
Update for me having completed week 1. I hope to start week 2 today :)

Knees given clean bill of health today by docs. As long as there is no swelling, locking or giving way of knee joints then it's just my body begging me to be fitter. No more excuses for me............gonna do week 2 day 2 today. :)

Forgot to update earlier this week, but I've finished week 6 this beautiful morning. So chuffed, but it was hard. Really need a decent playlist to listen to - I kept getting ballads by Steps etc this morning, not very motivating!!!
 
Just finished week 2. Had to be so careful though and take it slower than normal due to my shins. Now sat at home with ice on my right leg.

Well we did it.. 42 mins so not brilliant but when doing C25K after 30 mins we were running only 2 miles so we've never actually ran the whole distance.. Oh but the hills and the heat!

When I signed up I asked if there was hills and was told a few inclines mmmm there were loads, did feel good seeing the traffic at a standstill on M25 and we were running faster lol!

Also we usually run in the morning so not really used to the heat so we're quite chuffed with our time.
