Dark, sunken eyes

Rorah

Mooooooo
Hi all, I've had these big dark circles under my eyes for as long as I can remember, and they also appear sunken and generally not very attractive! Every day I pile on my Clinique All About Eyes concealer (the only thing I find is strong enough to actually disguise the darkness) and blend it in, but by the end of the day when my makeup has worn off, I just look terrible again.

I drink lots of water in the form of weak no added sugar squash and coffee, and I sleep more than anyone I know (usually 9-10 hours a night).

I do drink a lot of wine and in the past have thought absolutely nothing about sinking a bottle every evening after a long day at work (a glass when I get into a nice hot bath with a book, another one whilst cooking, another one with dinner and a final one watching QI on the TV afterwards - it adds up so quickly!), but since starting SW I've reduced this significantly to a couple of small (125 ml) glasses a night, so no more than 3.5 bottles a week in total.

I'd just love to not be a slave to the make up counter at Boots anymore, and not feel happy until I've slathered on all this concealer stuff under my eyes (and then of course I have to put a bit of foundation on to help blend the concealer in, and then blusher to not look so monotone, and then powder to help keep it all in place...).

Is there anything I can do to get rid of these deep, sunken dark circles?

I have permanent dark circles under my eyes and I always have done, its just my skin pigmentation, there is nothing I can do about it, apart from I know there is cosmetic surgery you can have done to get rid of it but I just use makeup; Benefit Erase Paste and YSL touché éclat.

hope you do find something to help reduce yours though.

Just a tip.... I am a concealer addict too...... Dark circles, dark eyelid skin, facial scars and uneven skintone. My skin is vile lol.......and I've tried all the expensive ones. Touché éclat and Clinique are both really good as is the clarins one? But recently I swapped to the £3.99 one at Aldi (seriously!!) after a friend recomended it and I'm soooooold!! It's fab and as I use it twice a day is saving me a FORTUNE.

I have had really bad dark circles Since being a teenager and I haven't found anything that helps other than makeup the vitamin deficiency is interesting tho. Will have to look into that! :)

I also have this problem and no matter what concealer I try you can still see the darkness under my eyes :( I'm really fair skinned which makes it worse and I've had it for as long as I can remember. I normally found that concealers didnt really blend in too well when I applied it on top of my foundation, so I use a light powder to disguise it which works quite well. I bought a new concealer today though funnily enough, I'm hoping it'll work!

You might be sleeping for 9-10 hours, but that might not be quality sleep. Alcohol can definitely affect your sleep, whether you notice it or not.

I would personally suggest cutting out all alcohol, as hard as it might be to do. If you try it and stay disciplined at least for a couple of weeks, you will be able to see if that has the been the problem after all this time.

Also, try not to get stressed. I'm not sure if you experience much stress, but stress can affect your health (prolonged stress mainly).

Good luck!

I've had the same problem for years and I've tried everything I did see a specialist and they said to get the sunken look away I'd have to have fillers which I'm way to scared to do but I did have the n-light treatment which is amazing so I would recommend that and you won't have to use half as much concealer x

I have this problem too since my mid teens. I've heard of the vitamin deficiency too! Worth looking into!
