Desperate for something sweet to eat for low syns!

I've had a migraine today, and it's just started to wear off after taking copious amounts of medication :(

But after a migraine i ALWAYS get really bad cravings for sweet stuff. Like i HAVE to have it! The cravings are worse for sweets, than they were for cigarettes when i gave up 5 years ago

The only thing that's stopping me running down the shop for a giant bag of bonbons is knowing i have to go to class on thursday, thank goodness!

Can anyone recommend something sweet to eat for little or no syns? I know it sounds impossible... i've been racking my brains but haven't been able to think of anything :(

the two things i find that really help my sweet craving is red grapes (lovely frozen in this weather) and fresh pineapple

i am very interested in this topic. i am much the same, when i have my monthly migraine i take co-codamol and then i get the urges for food. Luckily most of the time i fancy jacket spuds, but occasionally i fancy something sweet and i usually surcomb to chocolate buttons. hmmm

Thanks guys :) I'm sitting here eating a whole tub of quark with 3 options hot choc sachets mixed in - yum! :D

Walls Mini Milks are only 1.5syns x

Walls mini milk ice lollies are 1 1/2 syns and hit the mark for me. Hope the head gets better soon, I know just how you feel but when I get a migraine I'm in bed for 3 days or more being sick so allthough the pain is agony they benefits pay off on the scales lol. Take care xx.

I always keep some meringues in the house for that sweet tooth satisfaction. It's so quick and simple to make an Eton mess and use some Strawberries as a super speed food into the bargain...bonus!

I get the sugar free fruit flavoured ice lollies too for my daughter....or you could make your own using SF squash. They're lovely to cool down with out in the sunshine.

ouch! mine used to be like that (and very occasionally still are) but i've FINALLY found a medication that's right for me, after a lot of trial and error ones! it's called zolmitriptan (zomig rapimelt - can't take normal tablets with a migraine cos i just throw them up  ).

they still don't shift it on their own, but i find if i take one at the first sign of a migrain along with a diclofenac, 2 codeine phosphate and 2 ibuprofen it usually takes the worst off. and then another zomig 2 hrs later if i need it.

it took me years to get the right medication, but i'm SO glad i've found it! i used to be like you, bedridden for days feeling like i was literally dying, but i reckon 9 times out of 10 is like today has been - just about bearable. it's just the 1 in 10 i have to look out for now! lol

Ive found that if I have suger free fruity chewing gum, its like having the sweet flavour without the syns, my favourite at the moment is Extra Fusion, Raspberry, Blackcurrant & Grapefruit, im not sure of the syns in this particular type, but most sugar free chewing gums are about 2 syns for the whole packet. It does lose its flavour quite quicky but to me its just as good as eating blackcurrant chewits! Yum Yum Yum Lol

Hiya
Have u tried taking an anti-sickness tablet before taking a painkiller when you've got a migraine? I've suffered for years and would take every type of painkiller i could get my hands on, had to see a specialist in the end as i have a common abnormality in my brain and he told me to make sure that i had taken an anti sickness before taking anything else! if i take it and some normal strength painkillers at the first signs (flashy lights in front of my eyes 4 me), i find i can deal with the migraine and don't have the sicky side effects. You might already know this but i thought i'd just suggest it. lol
Also a fab ice lolly is only 4.5 sins and soleros are 5! Lovely in this weather.

Hi Furry

Its really nice isn't it.... my young lad got into the fridge today and I found a great big finger scoop mark in the bowl. I called him into the kitchen and said had he been in the fridge ? he said "No daddy" as he stands in front of me with choc all round his face ...heheheheheh !!

I can't imagine quark being made into something sweet, might have to try that, I tried it for the first time the other day in a jacket potato, think i put too much in tho, tasted abit funny.

Not a filling sweet fix but a great sweet boost is the sugar free worthers original. I cant remeber if they are 1/2 or 1 syn each but they are good.

I like to have couscous with lemon and orange jest and a little sweetner or honey(if I want to use syns). I then mix in orange segments grapes and blueberries sometimes i might warm them through and make a syrup with honey to caramalise the fruit..sort of, then mix throught the couscous.

it's all about the mini milks they hit the spot every time and if you freeze low fat fromage frais with options thats always nice too
