Does protein take you out of Ketosis?

    Just wondering if it does? I know carbs do, depending on how many an individual's body reacts to...:confused:

    Eating only protein should put you into ketosis after a couple of days of doing so. That's how I got started this time round on CD

    If you're talking about pure protein, like meat, poultry, eggs etc - then no, it doesn't.

    But those foods still contain calories, and calories count. The reason Cambridge works is because it's a very low calorie diet. The fact that you go into ketosis on it is just an added bonus. Ketosis in itself does not make you lose weight more quickly - it just keeps hunger at bay.

    Cool, thanks both. I've not had anything other than eggs or prawns so just wanted to check xx
