Tamkat, I'm the same ... after a lifetime of calorie counting I tend to just know calorie values for everyday foods, so I find myself keeping a (very rough) tally as the day goes on.
I follow SW but (as starchy carbs are a bit of a hot spot for me) I do weigh/measure healthy portions of rice, pasta and potatoes so that I know I'm not overeating on high calorie foods ... otherwise, like you, I find it plays on my mind and I dread WI (despite having good losses since starting lol). I'd rather weigh SOME portions and exercise common sense with proteins (portion size about the size of a pack of cards etc, etc) than have the 'washing machine mind' that happens when I don't
I know others who follow SW but also use Apps which monitor exercise and roughly count calories so that they are reassured that they aren't taking in more energy than they need. I certainly wouldn't advicate splitting days between SW and CC, but it is possible to (sort of) combine the two by following SW while being aware of calorie intake xx
