I am 29, I have 2 kids and I am fed up of none of my clothes fitting, of always feeling like the fattest person in the room, of getting out of breath when I walk up the stairs. I recently bought a dress for a wedding and I had to buy a size 20. This is the largest I have been in my life.
I have already begun my diet with WW, and have lost 5lb so far. I have a long way to go!
I put on loads of weight during my masters degree as I spent so much time sedentary, writing essays and eating bad food. Also I had to give up the sport I love (roller derby) whilst studying as I could not risk an injury as it would have meant extending my course (which I reeeeally didn't want!). I am now in a situation whereby I am dying to get back to skating, but feel totally fat and unfit.
I have stopped going out socially since I put on the weight. I had to go out last night for a family do and I felt uncomfortable and self-conscious all evening. I didn't have a good time at all.
I not only want to lose weight, but I want to feel healthier. So along with the diet, I am introducing exercise into my daily routines. I am doing yoga everyday, and am also about to start Tabata (or high intensity interval training HIIT) which is great for increasing stamina. Also, as I live by a river, I would like to try rowing or kayaking (or both!)
My goals are to lose weight healthily, gain confidence and return to the sport I love, feeling fit and ready to roll.
