Fat-free jelly

There was a query on another thread about a Hartley's jelly which was being promoted as "fat-free".

Which got me thinking - but surely all jelly is fat-free? So yesterday I went and had a look at the various Hartley's jellies in the supermarket, and yes, there is no fat in any of them (well, just a "trace" in the low-calorie sachets).

So why make a bit thing of it for just one product? Because they want us to think it is healthier? Because they don't want us to realise that it is just as sugary as their ordinary jelly? Because they think we are all stupid?

What's next - a big promotion for "fat-free" water??

I think they say fat-free as they have to say something nice about them!

The small print will say, also contains loads of sugar/fake sugar, mad colouring, preservatives and cows' hooves. Yummy!

Crazy with the fat free jelly - it's all part of the mad marketing schemes to lure us into buying "healthy" products.

Tesco value cottage cheese, not marketed as healthy living, fat free or low fat is as healthy and fat free as the "healthy living" one, yet half the price. Always gets me, that one!
