Evenin peeps,

Am I being stupid or is a frittata just the same as a sw quiche??

I haven't ever made one. Do you just whack it in a flan dish and stick it in the oven?

I think frittata is basically like an omelette, but you would cook in fry pan then cook top under the grill. Can't see why you couldn't put cottage cheese in it aswell. I always liquidise my cottage cheese and egg when I make a quiche, it prevents any lumps (apart from the meat veg etc) it also makes it very fluffy when you cook it and blows up a bit like a souffle, although it soon deflates once it's out of the oven!

I always assumed a frittata was like a massively packed Spanish ommelette. I made one tonight actually, with peppers, potato and courgette in it. Twas lush.

Yes, a frittata is just a giant omelette, so cooked on the hob and finished under the frill. SW quiche has cottage cheese in it and is definately more...er... quiche like.
