Greeneyes will PERSEVERE.........

Thought I would just add a couple of photos from our night away, the first is of me with my ice-cream at the Hagen Daas Cafe and the second is of my spread eagles on our bed, which shows you just how massive the bed is as at home I would reach all sides.

Forgot to say that when we returned to our hotel from the Theatre, our bed was turned down, curtains and blinds shut, a bottle of water and a glass placed on our side tables along with the remote for the tv and our slippers were put on little mats beside the bed. The bathroom had been cleaned and fresh flannels and toiletries put out for us.... could get used to that life, but I would end up very fat again.... bad news!!!

OMG!!! That sounds amazing!!! What a fab hubby & what a lovely treat, you more than deserve it hon. I LOVE your pics, you look so happy... and so skinny!!! Those 5lbs had to be worth it, and will soon be gone again. We are going to london for half term in October, all four of us, but it will be a more budget trip I think! (Maybe taking a detour to haagen daaz cafe though!!!)

What a lovely story! You did tell it well! Sounds like you had a wonderful time and did exactly what i would have done in the circumstances. Bravo!! xxx

That sounds like an absolutely amazing anniversary - very nice pressie from OH!!!

The room looks fab and the food descriptions amazing. I would have done exactly the same - you have to live a little, or even a lot, on special occasions. I'm sure you'll get back on track.

Your face looks ever so slim on that pic!

You look so fabulous in these photos. You look really young and definitely not like you've had 5 kids! I love the sprawled look on the bed too ;)

Great report of your anniversary (happy anniversary again) and all the details about the food too. I think I put on 10lbs just reading the report, and I'm glad you were spoiled as you deserve. Is your son better now?

V happy to see you back x

Ps. Do we get to see the anniversary photo?

Hey Laura, I have had 10 kids.... and I will get round to scanning the anniversary photo in, I quite like it actually so really must get it on my computer somehow.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments about how I look.... I look so totally different now to our wedding photos 10 years ago.... I am even smaller now than then.

Katie definately worth a detour to the Hagen Daas cafe in Leicester Square, not sure how I never noticed it before....

Happy Tuesday Greeneyes... will avoid Leicester Square in Oct the way I am feeling just now, but enjoyed the 'virtual' ice cream! Will tell kids about it, they are naturally skinny minis! (Well, maybe I should just take them along to be sure they don't get lost, it being London and all... no!! no!!!)

Hmmm, have decided I want to lose another stone and get down to 9 stone 6.... I dont think I am thinking of this as a leeway, I like being 9 stone 13 because once I hit the 10s I know I have to cut back, but I think I want to aim for this because I am buying a new coat from Next, I tried on a 10 and 12, the 12 was too big, hubby said the 10 looked better, but now I am concerned it will be too tight if I wear a thick jumper under it, and am thinking if I lost another 7lb then my clothes would fit much better.

KD if you read this what is the best way of losing this 7lb, should I go back onto Cambridge 810 or something or is there a better way of doing it? Any help would be appreciated, have had a bit of a gain recently which is fine there is a good reason and I am happy with that as the weight is now coming off again just by eating "normally" (10th wedding anniversary, couple of days away plus TOTM) so seem to have the maintenance under control, just not sure how to go about losing this extra 7lb...

Hey Green Eyes. We have similar goals :)

I'm 10 stone 1 ish at the moment and want to get to 9 stone 6. I'm on 1000 now and moving up to 1200 in two weeks time. Do you know your BMR? BMR Calculator That can help you to work out the best cal intake but I guess it depends how fast you want to lose the weight. There's a few people on here that have struggled when they tried to drop back down to 1000 or 1200 and 1500 seemed the best for them...

Hi Laura, I did try my wedding dress on 2 weeks ago, because it was my second marriage (ooops)... I didn't have long flowing white dress but a cream suit, and the jacket nearly went round me twice when I tried it on. Hubby carries a photo around in his wallet of me from about 11 years ago and my face is now totally a different shape, and my hair a totally different colour, its like he has a totally different wife.... lol

My BMR as I am not particularly active is only around 1350, so thinking dropping low will do it for me. I also think my head is in the right place and I intend to do it for around 2 weeks a will hopefully lose the weight over that period of time, if not I will reassess so that I have an end and it wont go on indefinately, I think that will help, then I will move up the plans one a week this time and hopefully that will work for me.

Katy, half term here is about 6 weeks away, so you will have to see how you feel then and decide if you want to send the kids to the shop on their own.... lol

those photo's look fabulous hun! What an amazing anniversary present! WE have a hotel booked for our 5th in october, so might mention that its our anniversary when we go and see if we can get an upgrade! lol
the food sounds fab, it must be nice to have time away like that where you can eat what you fancy, and then accept the gain and work on it when you get back.
Your doing fabulous! :D

xx

I've read your post on the leeway thread with interest. I too want to get rid of my last stone and quickly too. I feel that I will be able to maintain now. By eating sensibly mainly (but not following accurately) on CD plans over the last 3 months I've only lost 9 lbs and although that's disappointing I now realise that in not STS or gaining weight I've actually learned a lot about sensible eating.

But...like you I really want this last stone gone now, Atkins doesn't seem to be doing what I'd hoped, although it's the basis of a great way of maintaining for me if I tweak it with less fat (which I don't like anyway) and a few more carbs. Then I think it'll be a very healthy diet and very much like CD maintenance anyway. So, I'm thinking of CD SS or SS+ for a couple of weeks and see what happens.
I'll be very interested to see how you get on.

Sorry to gatecrash your thread Greeneyes. Just need to reply to something Bess has written
Then I think it'll be a very healthy diet and very much like CD maintenance anyway.

I'm confused here, because there is no CD maintenance. Well, not really. They advise (for maintenance) healthy eating preferably low GI (which isn't low carb BTW).

The low carb part of Cambridge, is really for the benefit of ketosis, to make the VLCD more manageable. After that, it's increasing it to normal levels so you get all your glycogen/water back to full levels again.

Just felt I had to clarify this.

Please continue :D

I know there's no CD maintenance KD, it really was just a figure of speech. I do realise that both Atkins and Cambridge lead to a low GI diet for long term diet maintenance. That's what I meant, but was typing in such a rush and didn't make myself clear.

I do realise that both Atkins and Cambridge lead to a low GI diet for long term diet maintenance.

Wow. I didn't know that. Well I'll be jiggered. I always thought that Atkins folk did low carb..well lowish carb, to maintain.

I know their book has changed, but never realised that they now don't recommend low carb for maintenance. Well, you live and learn.

Oh whoops...gatecrashed again.

Love your piccies Greeneyes! You skinny minny :D

Hello hon ..
Just waving madly just trying to catch up on everyones post..
Hope all is well with you..
I cant see your pics, are they in your album I cant get into it for some reason.. boo hoo...... x

Hey Greeneyes!!

Sorry it's been a while since I have posted on your diary!
I hope you're ok, it seems as though you are doing great, and you have had a lovely break too - what a surprise!
You look fab in your photo's, and to me are still an amazing inspiration even more so after 10 children!!

I am at 11 stone 1 now, and need to get to 10 stone 1 for a healthy BMI and then probably going to aim for around 9 stone 10- 12 ish depending on how body reacts, so to watch your progess and how well you are still doing is incredible! I'm watching your progress with a keen interest to follow xx

Thanks everyone for your posts...
Curly, I posted a couple of photos on a post a bit further back in my diary...

I have decided not to go for the last 7lb loss by using 810 calories.... I feel my time with CD is at an end, and it worked brilliantly to get me to goal, but to drop back down to 810 and then have to work back up the plans again is daunting and expensive, so have decided to maintain and cut back a few calories if I still want to get to a lower weight. No more CD for me.... I am quite happy where I am at the moment although I would like to lost my muffin top I also thought that once I lose that extra weight I will have to move down a size in clothes and then would still have the muffin top..... will do some tummy exercises instead, plus put my slendertone to good use.... this may just do the trick. I feel I am maintaining well and dont want to rock the boat really... I dont always eat healthy but do the majority of the time and have treats occasionally, foodwise and eating I am just where I want to be really.
My aunt said to my daughter the other day that I would just put all the weight back on as losing weight is a lifestyle rather than just dieting. I think this time I have realised that. When I lost 2 stone on weightwatchers, I couldn't wait to finish so I could have cream cakes again.... doh!!! This time I started CD with the intention of having a massive chinese chicken curry and rice, but you know what, even though I reached goal over a month ago I haven't yet had that curry, it is not something I want any longer, so really feel I have achieved something with this diet. I am definately in a different place to the one I have ever been in before.... just wish I could be bothered with the exercise.... lol

Hey Greeneyes, that last post of yours is really inspiring and epitomises exactly how I am feeling at the moment - the bit about it being a lifestyle.

You've really helped me along the way - through your posts. I am sure that you'll maintain and prove that person wrong!
