Greeneyes will PERSEVERE.........

Well have treated myself to a new laptop, will be arriving on Friday, I told hubby I would have it for Christmas as long as I didn't have to wait until Christmas to have it, but actually, I never had my at goal prize which was a tattoo which I couldn't find a picture of once I had reached goal... doh!! Might tell him the laptop is my reaching goal prize.... lol I only had a new desktop in January, but I like the idea of being a bit portable too, although DH reckons that with a 17.3" screen it wont be very portable... it does only weigh 4.7kg though, so the weight will make up for the size.... it has a blu-ray drive which will write to dvd or cd plus lightscribe.... 4gb memory, tv tuner, all the gadgets (on my other forums I am called Gadget Monkey, there is a good reason for this... lol). It is also a 64bit like my desktop so all my software should be compatible except I am running Windows 7 on my desktop now (DHs work had a spare license and they have got it before it has been released), and will hopefully upgrade the laptop once it comes out.... woohoo... can you tell I am excited!!

Anyway, on the diet side of things I finally reached 9 stone 13 again today after my anniversary treat away and the church day out, so really pleased with that, the weight come off without be doing anything special, so at the moment I am maintaining well. Am actually being weighed by CDC tomorrow after 5 weeks to check I am still maintaining, bit worried my clothes will weigh more than normal and I will have put on by her scales, but I know I haven't by mine, so should be okay. Have had a couple of CD bits today, am thinking I really need to get them out of the house, and the bar didn't taste half as nice as I remember it tasting... glad about that, wont want to buy anymore now....lol
Hope everyone has a good day...

Good on you hon..... its always so nice to treat yourself and you so deserve it.. I love my laptop...... I couldnt live without it even though it keeps crashing on me at the moment.

Well done hon for getting back to 9 stone 13 lbs thats great you must feel really good..
I am sure you will weigh the same when you go to your cdc unless of course you usually weigh yourself with nothing on.

I weigh myself naked....... and thats the weight I go by.

Your doing fab well done you x

Yes I do normally weigh myself naked and first thing in the morning after I have been to the loo.... lol Definately not doing the naked bit at the CDCs....

well done on getting back to your goal weight hun after your social events! Super news! It sounds like your doing really well with the maintenance side of things! :D How long have you been working up the plans for if you dont mind me asking? Just curious as to how long people still use the CD products for as they are a LOT of money to pay out when your back to buying food too!

and enjoy playing with your new toy! I know nothing about laptops/pc's etc....thankfully i have a clever dad who knows it all for me! :D

Hope you have a super day today! :D:D:D

xx

Well had my weigh in with my CDC today, and according to her scales put on 1lb since I was last weighed 5 weeks ago, I think this is because my clothes are heavier as it is now colder and that I had breakfast this morning, I used to avoid breakfast before WI before, but on my scales I weigh exactly the same so I am happy with that.

I finished working my way up the maintenance plans 5 weeks ago, I followed each plan for 2 weeks like it said, my second 1500 was a bit off plan as I was on holiday, but I only put on around 2lb that week anyway, so just followed 1500 for a week when I got back and lost 3lb which took me to goal, since then I have lost another 1lb which takes me down to 9stone 13lb... which is where I like to be because once the scales hit 10 stone something I know to be a bit more careful with my choices. I no longer have CD products, I feel that once the diet is finished I shouldn't use CD products to maintain as this isnt normal life and I need to get back to "a new normal".

I eat what everyone else eats, we now eat healthily, I cook everything from scratch so I know exactly what goes into everything and that it is low cal too, everyone likes our new menu so that is good, we have a hit or miss vote at the table and if it is a miss I dont cook that again. I know have an extensive menu of things which I can cook. I am happy with my maintaining, but it is still a struggle, I do have to watch what I eat and sometimes I have to say no to yummy stuff if I feel I have eaten enough calories that day, but I dont have a problem with that at all because I know that another day I will be able to eat it..

Greeneyes, gonna copy and keep that post... it was what I was doing and what I have now lost. So... the reminder of how to do it is fab, thank you, and good luck with it. You are where I would like to be, so keep on with it - I'm watching and learning!

i love this hun! It just shows a life that i cant wait to get to!
I have always cooked everything from scratch...but then its always been all the add ones and portion sizes that have been my downfall. I'm going to actually weigh things in future and also follow recipies...as i often make up double batches with the intention to freeze it and then its consumed with larger portions etc!

I love how focused you are with your weight now hun! Without a doubt, inspirational! :D

I am trying to think like this :)

Your new laptop sounds amazing!!! I am jealous  !

I love getting new gadgets and that screen size is fab. I love having a laptop and it's so nice to sit in front of the telly and work if you're at home.

Anyway, congrats on your weight! I think a few people will be weighing heavier over the coming weeks as the cold weather sets in...I always used to find my lightest clothes but yesterday I was all jeans and jumper.

Take care x

Brilliant post Lynda, very helpful to me. And your pictures are amazing!! You look fantastic and so much younger too!! You are an inspiration.
I cook for my family too but I get a bit bored with my own food. What meals do you make now? Give me a few new ideas please?

Hey Bess, I have a few cookbooks, I bought around 4 in The Works so not too expensive. One is Cooking on a Budget - Quick and Easy and te other is How to Feed Your Whole Family, both are good cheapish cooking, the other 2 I cook from are Easy Everyday and Fast Food.
One day a week we have soup with homemade bread, my last homemade bread was pepperami and cottage cheese... but we have oat bread, sundried tomato and cheese bread, anything that catches my eye that I can cook in my bread maker. The soups we have vary, the favourites are Chicken Noodle Soup, Lentil and Vegetable Soup and Tuscan Bean Soup. For main courses we have Chicken and Ham Pasta Bake, last night we had Chicken Barley Supper and Shepherds Pie made with lamb mince, Kedgeree, Chilli, all simple home cooked stuff really. Everyone seems to like the cooking, so much so that my daughter wants to get hold of some of the cook books... lol

those photo's are fab hun!!!!!
You look wonderful and the difference is astonishing!

Inspirational!!!!! :D:D:D

Thanks Lynda, I have the 'how to feed your family' one... I think. Is it something like ' how to feed you family on a budget, one cooker ring and with 2 pans?' sort of thing?

I've never got to grips with my breadmaker, everything was very tasty but had the consitency of a house brick. Any tips? A friend gave me a good bread recipe which I shall try soon....... I haven't eaten bread since February....... I quite fancy trying sourdough bread too and growing my own starter, has anyone tried it?

My family are very complimentary about my food, but it's me that gets bored with it really. Isn't it a treat when someone else cooks for you?

We have lots of soup. My butcher sells old meat - ham, turkey, beef and so on. He cooks these by putting the meat in a cook bag and boiling it. Then throws the resulting liquer away in order to retrieve the meat!! If he knows I want it he gives it to me, and it's wonderful stuff! I think you could raise the dead with it!!
I have a freezer full of turkey and beef stock, so plan to make it all into soups and stews this week, while I have a week off work, Yippee!!
We are just about at the end of our own lamb and mutton now. I couldn't believe how expensive a whole lamb was for the freezer the other day, perhaps giving up keeping sheep was a mistake after all!

My son is a trainee butcher and I asked him about lamb the other day as I was keen to make Scotch Broth, but he said even scrag of lamb was expensive, so that will have to go on hold for a while.... hopefully he will be able to get me some cheap meat one day once he has been there a while.

i would love to be able to butcher meat properly!
I think so much of an animal is missed with most dishes and yet some of the cheaper cuts have so much more flavour!
I'm such a huge fan of economical cooking and live for soups!
I HATE waste so i will happily throw anything in a soup! lol. Love soups in the winter! Fab warmer!! :)

As a veggie not much to say on the butchery-theme, but I can dissect a carrot pretty neatly, lol! Your new siggy pis are AMAZING hon, so proud of you.

I think it very much depends on the breadmaker you have. As with most things you get what you pay for. I have a Panasonic SD255 and use it most days - it's brilliant! If your breadmaker have a French setting, use that as it proves the bread for longer so should get more air into it.

I also make sourdough bread every week. I have a starter in my fridge and it's great fun. It's virtually impossible to kill it now that it's mature (I've had it for over a year) and as long as I feed it regularly it will carry on giving me the best bread! I'd be happy to give you some recipes, although I normally experiment with new combinations that I read about online.

Try it - it's quite addictive - like having your own pet LOL

Might take you up on that too, Alli.

Right, I'm having a week off work this week. I'll retreive the breadmaker from the buildings and have another go. Any tips or pointers on Sourdough starters would be great Alli, and recipes if you don't mind, or suggestions of where to look for good ones. Thankyou.
