Hi guys, thought I'd share something I learnt lastnight, something I have wanted to know for a long time but my old gym couldnt help with.

OK, I am told that your metabolism speeds up following exercise for the while day if you exercise in the morning and for about about 4 hours if you work out in the evening. Apparently if you work out early your body burns the fat stored overnight, the later you work out the body tends to burn just the carbs you have consumed during the day.

Also when you have worked out you MUST have something to eat within 30 mins, something easily digestible ie banana or grapes otherwise, as your body continues to burn calories/fat. If you dont eat anyhting in this timescale your body will begin to burn the muscle.

The guy who spoke to me at length about this really knew his stuff, has filled me with renewed inspiration and I cant wait to get back there tonight.

Just thought i'd share the news, im gonna fill my fruit bowl with bananas now, hubby will think we live in a jungle when he gets home hahaha x
