hash browns

I do grated potatoe and then squeeze as much liquid out as you can, add a finely chopped onion, some chives and an egg to bind it.

Put into shapes and fry in frylight spray.

More like rosti's but delicious.
 
oh yum! think I need to try these and the KFC style chicken :)
 
I par-cook the potatoes in the microwave and then grate, add some grated onion and salt and pepper, shape and fry in frylight.
I find the texture better if pots are par cooked.
I also find I don't need to add an egg that way, or squeeze out loads of water!
 
How do you microwave par-cook the potatoes?

How many, do you prep them first, how long, what power microwave?

Pete; I pre cook spuds whole with skin on like I'm cooking jackets in the micro! I do this for my sw wedes as well! Normally 8 minutes for about 3 big spuds
 
Do you have to let them cool before grating?

Is it 3 pots to 1 onion?
