Hello......

I just wanted to write a post to say hello and introduce myself.

I have just joined the forum but have read through a few posts already.

I was recently told i have PCOS and one of the side effects is putting on weight easily and struggling to lose it.

A couple of years ago my other half and i decided we wanted to start trying for a family. Nothing happened and so we were referred to a gyno specialist. This was when i found out i had PCOS.

The consultant said i need to lose weight. So in January i went on a Slimming World diet. I lost a stone in two months and then stopped losing anything.

I kept on trying but just couldnt lose anymore. So i gave up. I am very disappointed in myself for giving up. I havent put any of the weight back on, luckily.

I know i have to lose at least another 2 stone before i can be offered IVF.

I get married in 12 days so things are very strssful at the min but as soon as i get back from honeymoon im joining a SW class again.

Hi and welcome. My SIL has pcos so I understand how hard it is to lose weight, so WELL DONE on your losses so far! You'll get loads of support here so read away, and all the best for the wedding!

Hi and :welcome: to the forums! Many congratulations on not only your weight loss so far but your upcoming wedding. I too have PCOS and understand your struggle but since joining this site and starting WW I have lost 19lbs and before that I had lost 2 stone (albeit slowly!) so it is possible to lose weight with PCOS. Everyone on here is lovely and there is plenty of support and advice available and you sound really motivated which will really help you!
I am sure I will bump into you again but for now I wish you the very best of luck on your weight loss journey!

Hi.Welcome to the forum. Well done on your losses so far and good luck losing the rest of the weight. :)

Hi hun and :welcome: to the forums. I completely understand how difficult things can be when you have fertility problems. A few members of my family have had this and its so upsetting.
On the plus side hun you did fantastically to lose that initial weight and to keep it off too. I know you gave up on the diet but at least that weight didn't creep back on (as its usually so fond of doing!)

I'm sure that we can all help to inspire, motivate and give you support when you need it. Its really friendly on here and we're all understanding of how each other feels.
I hope to see you around soon for tips and chats. Take care x
