Hello

I thought I posted a message earlier but it never showed up, don't know what I did.

Anyway here we go again, it was a long thread as well. I have tried and failed at every diet going!! That is the top and bottom of it. I have even failed at lighterlife and cambridge!

I have been thinking long and hard and have decided that I need to get back onto Cambridge. I think taking food out of the equation is my only option. I am just getting bigger and bigger and it is starting to affect my life in a lot of ways. I don't feel like going out anymore to socialise as I feel uncomfortable when I do, I am getting breathless doing normal day to day things, and most importantly it is starting to affect my marriage as in my sex life!!! I feel so rubbish naked!!!!

What I am doing (I have some packs left) is going into this grdadually instead of head first! I am going to have a shake for breakfast today, then a tuna salad for lunch, a shake mid afternoon and then chicken and veg for tea. I am wanting to cut down on my carbs first before I go straight into SS.

Also I wouldn't dare make an appointment with my counsellor as I have let her and myself down so many times in the past. I want to be as ready as is possible for sole source before I see her!!!

Does anyone have any tips for me, on what low carb foods I could be eating to cut down and also anyone who has failed and failed and finally got back on track.

Look forward to hearing some tips and thankyou for reading my post!!

Hey Wobbly,

Great to have you back!!!

Firstly, your CDC will not (or should I say should not) judge you on whether you succeed or fail on this diet. It's bloomin hard and you have to be in the right frame of mind to do it. Sometimes we think we are ready to do something and find out a little way in that we can't for some reason carry on. Sounds to me like you are heading towards 'the zone' and cutting down carbs and easing into SS is the first step on your journey. Just keep your smaller and larger goals in sight and you'll be there and feeling great about yourself!!!

As for restarting, I did CD a few months back and lost loads of weight - got into a pair of size 8 skinny jeans and once I relaxed and gave into social eating etc found I had piled loads back on (30+lbs). Why does it creep up on us?! It's taken me a while to find my mo-jo again, but I'm back, on day 2, in ketosis and 3.2 lbs down!! Feeling great.

As for the low carb thing for the next few days, sounds like you have it nailed - I'd stick to lean meat/fish and a bit of veg/salad.

Good luck, you can do this xx

Hiya wobbly,
So glad to see you here and determined to start again.
Don't you have another CDC in your area that you could go to?
Also i have tried and failed at every diet but don't beat yourself up about it. Just ease yourself into it and then start afresh. Treat his like a brand new diet and in no time you will start to see a difference.
and keep posting on here, it will really keep you going
peachy

really proud of myself, went out at lunchtime and was very very tempted to 'have a binge' thinking pastry and crisps and chocolate. Anyway I bought a paper and came back and had my tuna salad. This is a major breakthrough for me so today I have had 3 litres of water, 1 shake (up to now) and my salad.

Think this could be the start of something good, need to keep focused and try to gradually ss.

Welcome back Wobbly. Really sounds like you are in a good place and all ready to start your CD journey, adopting a really sensible approach. Well done on resisting temptation!

Well done for getting back on it! Maybe try and eat what those on the 790 stick to i.e. chicken, salmon etc...if you go to the 790 sticky it will probably have lots of good ideas for you :)
