    Hello all,

I just wanted a little advice. I have just had a 1/2lb gain.. Considering the shout of syns I must have consumed on a night out Friday.. This is not to bad!

My group leader has said I need to eat more free.. I wasn't eating enough super free... So I went a bit crazy on that with only a little free. Is this why I have had the gain? Am I not eating enough??

any advice would be fab as I'm now feeling a bit confused by the whole thing lol

    lickthelid Lives here....

You need to be more specific as the original post is a little confused re whether you mean free/superfree. I'd suggest posting a typical days food diary and letting everyone comment.

It could be that you consumed a lot on your night out and having lots of superfree has, in fact, countered that and that you have saved yourself a bigger gain than .5lb.

I've been with SW one week and I'm following the Extra Easy.

The advice I was given at my welcome meeting is:

Fill your plate 1/3 full of Super Free foods and the rest of your plate (2/3rds) with Free foods.

Then choose 1 Healthy Extra "A" choice (milk or cheese quota), then 1 Healthy "B" choice per day (this is a higher fibre choice such as wholemeal bread, fibre cereal etc).

If you fancy more HexA or HexB choices, you can have them, but they will now have a syn value (as does anything else not in the Super Free or Free lists).

The Super/Free lists really do fill people up *if* eaten as they are expected to be e.g. a plate of one third Super, two thirds Free.

Also, do remember, adding some more movement/activity to your usual day is also encouraged. Now, how much is *more* is down to just how sedentary/active you are/were before you began following the SW way of food optimising and only you know that :)

Hello all, thank you for your replies!

Sorry if my post was a little confusing lol

I have been having a lot of super free, but not so much free. My group leader told me to have more free. I was confused as I thought it would be a good thing if I was having lots of superfree. I guess this is now maybe me not consuming enough calories and my body saying whoa.. I'm keeping hold of this fat just incase! Therefore me not loosing much or even gaining.

I am going to try and stick to the rule 1/3 superfree and 2/3 free. I did forget this rule.

    Wish me luck!
  5. If you aren't having enough free foods you are probably not getting enough protein, which could make a difference. Superfree is good, of course, but the key is balance.

Good luck! And, remember, you are in the driving seat :character00182:
Keeping to the 1/3 vs 2/3 rule to set you on track (and don't forget your HexA's & B's :) )

I always have my hexa.. But b I struggle as I don't really get on well with wheat. But I've got some gluten free brown bread to try!

I have trig do fit in more free today and keep my superfree up to. So fingers crossed I get the hang of it :)

    thanks for your advice :)
