    Him this maybe a weird one.. I'm having 8 hours of tattooing done next week.. And the tattooist said the best thing to keep from passing out is sugar, what do you guys suggest to eat and drink as I don't want to go all day without food and go mad and go over my syns.. Thanks :D

    Why would you pass out? Surely the best remedy is based upon why you may pass out? Is it sitting for a prolonged period or lack of food or the anticipation of pain? Admittedly the longest I have sat is three hours and I just read a book! How are you sitting? Upright or laying down?

    Personally if you think you will need it flexi syn the day, work out the best options based upon what you will have time for. They will have to have a break as they will need one as well as you. Take fruit and maybe dried fruit as your hex b and some lower syn snacks like a curly wurly for a sugar hit. If also take a caffeinated drink of some kind, maybe some diet coke or similar. Possibly a light lucozade (not sure of syns but the glucose would help) All of that's portable and can be eaten in the chair. In terms of the fruit I'd opt for bananas for their fillyouup ability.

    I agree, my longest session was 4 hours but we did have a few littlw breaks as my tattooist was just starting out, I just sat there and watched tv!

    Dont really have much input as what I was going to say is all written in the above post lol!!

    Would carbohydrates not also work if you plan ahead? Like an athlete carbo loading before a race if you stock up your body with foods like pasta and potatoes the night before then they should help to regulate your blood sugar and hence help stop you passing out during the tattooing.

    Also that is a pretty major physical day for you, so plan your syns and allow yourself some leeway with a few snack size mars bars or biccies. I wouldn't worry too much if you get back on track as soon as possible.
     
  6. What is it about tattooing which makes you pass out? The pain? The sight of the needle? (Personally I wouldn't get past the front door without fainting - it's bad enough going to the dentist and I have to do that!!)
