So been to my CDC tonight to get my packs for my first week. The doctor signed off (yey!) so starting off on SS.

My big target is to lose 3.5 stone before my 10 year anniversary on 13/02/13. I think, from what I've read in various places, that this is do-able!

There's only my other half and a couple of people at work who know I'm doing this. Don't want too many others knowing.

For the first time ever I am excited about doing a diet and want to do it for ME this time and not because I think I should lose a few pounds.

Packs sorted out for tomorrow starting with a strawberry ready mixed for breakfast.

Good luck on all your weigh ins this week.

Hi Karen, glad to hear you got signed off for ss. Its great to be able to take a step and do something for you! Your goal does sound achievable and I'm sure you'll do fab!.you'll find this site really helps... Just remember when your struggling to come on here and chat to others doing the same, it really helps and takes your mind of food! :)

Best of luck for a great first week!

Xx

Thanks :)

First day and I'm tested already...... Friday is breakfast butty morning in our office. I'm being good though, sat nursing a bottle of water instead :) smells goooood though :-(

Meant to ask, do you have to have your three packs at 'normal' times I.e breakfast when you first get up then lunch and dinner? I was going to stick with water until about 11 or 11:30 (which is when I normally get hungry/bored and reach for the snacks) before I have my tetra. Then have a late lunch and dinner.

Hope you can do this.

I was also going to split my dinner time shake in two and have the other half for supper. Is there a specific cut off time for having your products?

Well done on the start of your journey. I don't believe there is a cut off time for having products, and as a man I have 4 and they are randomly dotted around the day, and it hasn't harmed me.

Thanks BayBoy.

I've managed to go all morning without anything so going to have my soup at 12. The tetras there for this afternoon then but going to try and go without so can have that for supper and a full shake for dinner :)

Surprising myself that I'm doing ok! Water DEFINATELY helps! (And ciggies but shouldn't really be advocating those! That's the next thing to go after the weight!!!)

Ok so just had my soup and i feel MORE hungry than before I ate it!!!! That's a surprising and pretty nasty desert :-(

More water it is then.

Hey Spookess, well done on not succumbing to the bacon butties.... mmmm.... sound delicious! nom nom....

the hunger does go, and the water makes an enormous difference.... what has amazed me since starting this diet, is that before, i often thought i was hungry and would pick at things, mostly cakes and biscuits and now as i cant eat, i have water and i've realised its not hunger at all, but thirst!!! i just hope i can keep hold of this when i start eating again.... thankfully (i suppose) i still have a mightly long journey to learn this valuable lesson!!! =0)

Personnally, i always have my 3 products at virtually the same time... my first product is normally between 7.30 and 8am, i have my lunch at 1, and then my tea between 7 and 8, except on the weekends, IF i manage to get a layin, (which isn't often with my kids!!!) then i often only have breakfast at 12, then i'll have a mid afternoon snack, and tea again around the same time.... this is simply my preference though and i have no idea on whether it is right or wrong.... i think mostly, we have to do what is right for us.... i normally like to try and eat at the same time as my kids, saves me trying to pinch theres! =0)

I was going to do the same thing, set times. Today being the first day though I tried to go as long as i could with the first one, just stuck to water. Came to lunch time and didn't feel starving when I made my soup but did after. Had my shake about half five when I got home. Felt starving before and after having it. Just woke up from a 4 hour(!!!!) nap and realised I have another product to have so had the tetra I didn't have this morning.
Now I know that I'm probably better off having breakfast lunch and dinner because otherwise the hunger will mount up during the day, and so will the products! Really struggled at dinner time though. Smelt the dinner my OH was making and was thinking 'just one chip', 'just one bite' etc etc. stayed strong though. Even when he offered me a bit. He wasn't being mean, he thought I could have normal food as well. Not on SS I told him, and not pizza! Lol

Proud of myself for staying strong though. Just told myself that it will get easier and that the first day in particular was going to be really bad because gone from a whole day of junk the day before to nothing!

Off to bed now. Porridge for breakfast. Will see what that's like.
Using this week to decide which flavours of things I like. So far mango shake YUMMY! Oriental Chilli soup yummy. Strawberry tetra, made me feel a bit queazy. I think it was the different texture?

Night xx

I find I like the routine otherwise it messes up my days and I can get quite shaky if I don't eat regularly enough! Yesterday I was busy all say making my little girls birthday cake and was late having lunch and ended up feeling really queer and shaky!

Its hard when oh had lovely smelling food... Mine always makes things that smell lush, I try and ignore, its hard but has got easier! Well done for staying clear of the pizza.... That takes willpower for sure! :)

You got anything nice planned for today?

Btw, how did you find the porridge? I hated them, I know live on mint choc shakes at least twice a day and sometimes a soup, either mushroom our spicy tomato, but that's only 3 out 4 says a week so on the other says its 3 choc mint! I'm having a crazy limited diet at the mo, bit funnily I'm still enjoying it!

Hi there :) I've just started too!! Im on day 6 now so week 1 nearly over!!! Its been hard work!!!

I agree about the porridge can't stand it!! So won't be ordering any after these have gone!!!
Love the shakes and soups are ok!

You both doing Ss?

The porridge is rank!! I live on choc tetras, mint choc chip shakes and chilli soup... Mind I do allow myself 1 peanut bar a week... Tried the mouse, it was Ming and haven't touched the water sweetners.

Happy weekend all.. Weigh in on Monday, I'm going for a reserved 3lb loss this week, it's got to slow down.

I had the maple and pecan porridge and I really liked it. It's the first product type I've tried where I haven't been starving as soon as I've finished it. It's really sweet and I make it with a bit more water and cook it for 2 minutes so it isn't too thick or too thin. Going to swap some of my shakes for porridge I think so I can actually eat dinner rather than have to drink it. :)

Wow! I loathed the maple porridge... Could barely eat it... I know live on mint choc shakes and maybe a soup for lunch but only spicy tomato and mushroom... I normally love porridge and thought it would be great to actually eat, but I'm getting used to just drinking now! Think I may have forgotten how to chew now!

How's everyone doing today?

I've decided to go SS+ today so going to have chicken and veg for tea. Apparently spices are ok so going to make either a dry piri piri rub or a marinade of piri piri seasoning and water. Nom Nom :-D
Can anyone remember the amounts of chicken and veg you can have? Left my book at work! D'oh!

170g Chicken (skinless)
80g Veg
