I've got some time to plan but I've a conference coming up. Will be in a hotel for 6 days. Trying to think ahead what foods I can have that can that can be stored/ made in room

Will have a kettle. . Probably not a Fridge

So far I've this list... want to avoid Costa/Starbucks dinners!

    mug shots
    Measured bags of nuts
    Nakd bars/dried fruit pre measured
    Wholemeal rolls
    Diet coke

    Anymore ideas for dinner?

    Thanks in advance guys x

Tinned stuff, like tuna; or couscous, fruit as superfree seeing as it will be difficult to add to your meals
  3. Would Costa or Starbucks be your only options? Could you go online and see where the hotel is and find out if there are any suitable places to eat nearby? Does the hotel have a restaurant/coffee shop/cafe which has an online menu you could consult before you go? Is there an M&S food place, or similar, nearby where you could get some wholemeal rolls, cold meat and tomatoes, for instance?

As it is a conference, is there food provided during the day? If you were able to have a good lunch, would you need to eat much in the evenings?

Personally I would be very careful about what food you store/prepare in your room. Eating a sandwich or something similar would be fine, but a hotel might not be very happy if you were actually preparing food in your room.

And remember, you have to sleep there, and the smell of anything you do have will linger around - I wouldn't eat tuna in my bedroom at home!

    Thanks guys for ideas

No food provided during the day. Will have short breaks. From previous experience just about time to get to Costa for a coffee & have a hifi/alpen. I ended up living on coffee and a packet of crisps last time. .not ideal!!

My budget is tight hence wanting to avoid dining out! - the hotel does do jacket spuds so that's deffo an option for a couple nights but spendy!

    Rolls/tomatoes is an ace idea

    Cheers again!

  5. A conference with no food or refreshments! Oh dear, I do see your problem. Good luck with it - you are thinking ahead and planning, so that should help.
