This will be my year
My consultant is a wonderful woman and has stuck with me through thick and thin (though very little thin of recent times), but I'm thinking that she's not right for me now and I need to find a CDC who suits me better :sigh: She was my CDC when I lost 4st a few years ago, and I've gone back to her a few times since, so I'm feeling a complete traitor to consider going to anybody else... but if it's the only way I can get to where I want to be then I have to do it
I have a few problems with going to see her:
1. She works full time, and only does 2 evenings a week from her home. This can be a problem as she only does maybe 2 hours each night, so I find it difficult to get there at times because I work long hours and can't always get away on time.
2. Her house is a detour on my route from work, so if I'm late I don't have time to get home, see to my dog if my other half is away, and then go back to her house. I have somebody to take my dog out in the day, but on winter nights I can't also expect them to take her out when I'm going to be even later home from work
3. She runs open house rather than 1-2-1 consultations, which is great for the social aspect, but if there is anything I need to discuss there are always people milling around. If I put weight on, it's not possible to just sit and talk about why it happened without others arriving for their appointments.
I'm currently on a break from seeing her - I'm just getting back on plan after an op and am using up leftover packs, but I need to make my decision as I'll be running out after next week.
I've never been to another consultant, so I don't know if I have unrealistic expectations. Basically I'd like somebody who can be more flexible with appointments, and who can give me 1-2-1 time. I don't want the LL style navel gazing, but at times I do need more support than I seem to get.
Any advice gratefully received
