:) Don't take such research as granted - because there are way too many other factors and variables which could contribute to the results of such findings.

I don't believe lack or abundance of 'sleep' in itself, as a variable CAUSES you to HAVE 'belly fat'. It's more about emotional well-being. If we are constantly tired we are more likely to be feeling distressed, emotional and unbalanced and therefore seek comfort in our vices - which (seems the study was conducted in US) - are often crisps, doughnuts and bread... and lordy, do they have a wiiiiiiiiiide selection of sweet and savoury snack foods available! Much more elaborate and imaginative (and absolutely sickly) than we have here in the UK!
